I live n Louisville, and I know the entire country has a major problem with drug abuse, but Ky is saturated with drugs. Most people, and I’m talking about people that live in the midst of a ‘saturated’ city, don’t understand how incredibly different things are today compared to even just 10 years ago. Kids are bombarded with drug use from so many different directions (music, sports, peers, etc) and the availability of these drugs is like no one has ever seen. It’s a scary thought that nothing significant has really been done by our leaders considering the enormity of this problem...the deaths, the crime, the children OD’ing and suicides...it seems like a bottomless pit filled with pain and agony and depression and very little hope. It takes an extraordinary person to offer a hand like this guy has. That’s the ‘little hope’ I mentioned before. Thank God for people like this man.

I'm an addict with 18 yrs clean.. That was a Beautiful and so very true Comment you made. ❤❤ I couldn't agree more. 🤗 But you know, So much is just so easier said than done. It absolutely is 100% possible. Just so hard to see our futures being like that when were on the Drugs. Everyone has their own Switch that goes off for when we're truly ready to get and Stay clean.. It took almost 20 years before My switch finally went off. I she'd many tears everytime I see any addict still using. I just want to grab her and make all her problems (addiction) go away. 🤗 😢😢😢 I know addiction never goes away. But u know what I mean. 😊 I'm soooo Happy for you that you were able to meet a man like you have. Again. That's also possible. (Your proof of that) But that's a lot harder than it sounds. Not all.. But way too many men in todays world aren't like the man you met. Or like the man I am. Woman too.. I was the Happiest man alive when I was married to my soulmate for 16 yrs. Even thru some years of using. Until I lost her to breast cancer in 2008. She was only 41. 😭 It's been 12 years and I've yet to meet a woman even close to accepting who I was. And the ones that will, just haven't been the one for me in other ways. 😔😔 Great Comment you Wrote. 😍😍 Ty.

I was in this beautiful girl's shoes, using just to not feel sick. I hated my life. H ruined my relationships and altered my self image in such an awful way. This poor girl has been hurt so badly by those who were supposed to protect her that she actually believes she is unlovable. That's so untrue! You can see she has a good heart still. Nobody is perfect. She's brave enough to warn young ones even though she never got that warning. I'm 5 years clean now, thank God. There's a light in you STILL miss lady, don't give up on yourself! You are worth it! What you've done and been made to do you can't change, but YOU control your future and there's so many rooting for your success. God bless, I'll keep you in my prayers🙏

Yes because some of her story happened to me..but I won't let that dictate the life I live. It's a fight everyday and it's a vicious cycle that no matter what ends with me.Not something I'll pass onto my kids and they have no idea of my upbringing. I've had to find forgiveness for my Mums actions and when I grew up and had children I couldn't begin to imagine how your own Mother could do this but looking back she really thought it was ok and that's how distorted her feelings were.

You folks are looking at this all wrong. If we lived in a village of 99 happy prosperous people and one hideously ugly drug addict, I'm sure we'd all be there to love and support that person. That's not the world we live in, because we have 7 billion people with tens of millions of people in Jamie's position. Beauty just happens to be a metric we value women by. Same as physical strength and earning power in men. Does it suck when you're not at the front of that line? Sure. Does that mean it's wrong? No. Does your complaining change it? No.

It simply boils down to one question: Does a person deserve to be judged for decisions made during the worst time in their entire life? I believe people do grow and learn and change. Continuing to judge and condemn old behaviors serves no purpose save petty or mean spirited desires to belittle another. Thank God those types of people eventually do learn, although most do MUCH TOO SLOWLY. Treat others the way you wish to be treated-that’s it

@The MGTOW shut up dude, the court system does not treat men like second class citizens. maybe in the 60s/70s/80s there was a bias, but the courts have robustly changed the entire flaw, the flaw being that men were seen as the expendable parent. that could have something to do with men putting all of the responsibility of home-making and child-rearing onto mothers, no wonder the courts would give the primary custody to mom. nevermind the fact that men tend to give up custody at a statistically higher rate without any attempt to raise the kid Something tells me you've been "going your own way" for a minute now, and I doubt that you have children in the first place, and just want to complain about women... but on the off-chance that this is something you've experienced, stop feeling bad :) the reason you didnt get custody is because the courts recognize that you're a bad parent. so nothing unfair happened, you just suck :)

This woman is a warrior the pain in her eyes is unbearable to witness. I once believed the same thing about no one can love me because of the things I’ve done. I now know that that is not true. When someone truly loves you, there’s nothing that could stop that love. It took me years to believe that my now husband truly loves me. I’m honest with him and he does t give a flying F what I’ve done in my past and loves all of my flaws. Sometimes I wonder how he could love me so much and he always says he’s the lucky one. To this beautiful woman: it’s never too late! There’s someone out there that’ll accept and love you now matter what you’ve been through or done. I am so sorry that you lost your childhood and experienced so much pain. THAT IS NOT YOUR FAULT! You deserved so much better! If you see this, I want you to know that you’re beautiful and I want to help you, if you’ll allow me to. If you want to talk, please comment below so that I can reach out to you. Stay strong😔❤️

@shawnkelly1241
@shawnkelly1241 3 жыл бұрын
Whats the difference between chasing or chasing drugs. Those that chase money pay strangers to raise the kids and mom and dad never home to make more money. Everyone chases money and work life away and still loose. I know that life. Get raised by strangers. Grow up and have kids. I was off to make a living. Some lies how bad i was and off chasing money to be rich. Lost my family and alone and had nobody. The kids gone the wife gone all because chase money. Then fuck it do drugs. Now its 20 yrs later and the damage is done. Lost your family. Lost your job. Lost your mind and on drugs and now live free doing anything possible to live til tomorrow. Trapped no way out. Chase money and trapped in the same circle all life long. Once a parent looses their kids they go nuts and drugs. Then the kids grow up in the drug life because parents chased money as raised by strangers. many started on drugs, many had a job and over worked and lost their family and went nuts. Give up and loose hope then trapped there forever. Well advice, if you really want change you will do it. No forced rehab no guilt for that life. If sick of a life and wanna try for another then do it. Follow a dream. May take 30 yrs to get but keep trying. Never give up. Everyday you are alive is a good day. May be a heart attack or stroke from over worked or accident and work and killed or a drug over dose. Always risks.in life. I say more die in car crashes then drug over doses. More die at work then drug over doses. Sick of over worked and may die then find a easier life. Sick of drugs then find a easier life. Only you can change what happens. Some love this drug life, they dont want change. Offer help nope i want this and stay. Not wrong its a life choice. Take a dad is a actor and mom is a designer. Dads in gernany and moms in france. The kids are at home in a mega house raised by total stangers. Only difference is 1 is rich 1 is poor

@sgahan691 whats the difference between dads a actor moms a designer. Dads in germany moms in spain. The kids are at home raised by strangers. Only difference is 1 is rich 1 is poor. Now how many worked hard. Met a person. Had kids. Worked hard as shit and never home to be rich to have everything for your kids. Now lost your family, lost your mind, lost your job, lost your house. Now everything you own fits in a shopping cart. It can happen to anyone. All it takes is 1 slip up and one day rich next day broke and homeless. Many give up before trying because whats the point. Just gonna work too much and loose anyway. But remember have faith for better cause always could worse. If your kids come back only you can decide your life and still human and still reserve the same respect as the rich. Everyone looks up to and protect only those chasing money and not those chasing life

Some chasing money and pay strangers to raise their kids. Some stay rich and some crash. Alot of homeless lived a good life chasing money. They had kids and chased money. They lost their family because 1 wrong move. Now stuck in this life. Some had kids and life went to shit fast. It can happen to anyone. I met a lady at 17. We dated and at 20 we had kids. I got a awsome paying job. I was gone 27 days per month chasing money to raise my kids. Ended up loosing my family because never around. Chasing that money. Lost my wife and kids. Kept working trying to chase money. Met another lady and she had a child. I still worked chasing money. I lost my mind and have nothing. I was in a tent for a year. My drug of choice is weed. I sold weed many yrs drunk and stoned passing time. Me selling weed paid my rent. Arrested and now back homeless again. No real help to get back on track. Held down by the rich. The rich will not offer up real help to help us get a better life. Just give barely enough to survive for many yrs instead of a 1 huge shot over 1 yr to become self sufficient for life. Nope keep us just barly alive and this is the end. Many reasons we end up at the bottom. Some held back, some over worked and lots all. Some trapped there. Some enjoy it. Some enjoy over working, some enjoy drugs. Different people see it different. I see drugs better then over worked and loose everything anyway

I have a friend that her dad did this same thing to her. Shes clean now for I believe 3 years and going to college working and has a great boyfriend who's also in recovery (hes been clean a lot longer) but I'm so happy for her that she finally gets to live a good clean life but the stories she told me of the things her dad made her do... I was in disbelief that as a parent I'd do anything to protect my son and never put him in harm's way in any way! And the thing is. She even forgave him hes clean now as well and they have a relationship and I guess maybe her forgiving him was part of her healing process but I'm with you, you're supposed to do everything to protect your children, any children and it's just sickening what drugs will have you do when your that deep into them. Hopefully Jamie finds the guidance she needs to heal and love herself sees her worth before something really bad happens.

I'm not even sure where to begin, I now call this woman my little sister. When she was 8, her mom taught her how to shoot up because she had some twisted fantasy about other people shooting her up. My little sister got dropped off at my house for a slumber party and we didn't hear from her again for 3 months. She could have gone to her grandmothers, but there were already 7 kids in a 2 bedroom, and we had plenty of room, so she just sorta lived with us for years, never legally, dhr didn't give a damn anyways. Occasionally her mom would pop up clean and take her back for a few weeks/months, but it never lasted long. At 12 her dad got out of prison and she moved in with him. She got pregnant at 14, and again with twins at 15. Dropped out of 8th grade, and hasn't gotten her GED or anything, now has 5 kids, and doesn't have any of them. She's currently living in an rv in the woods with her mom, with no running water. She truly never had a chance. I tried, and continue to try. I've got a small trailer that she's stayed in a few times, rent free of course, but she always ends up back with her mom. As a parent I just don't understand how anyone can do that to their child. Don't get me wrong, I'm an addict myself, (I was prescribed pain killers for a degenerative condition at 19, and despite using them as prescribed, I still consider myself an addict], but I just don't understand why anyone would want anyone else, much less their child, exposed to such evil.

Don't get me wrong - I think it's amazing what you are doing...I could only imagine how many people you have helped - both to leave this life behind as well as to never get into it. So believe me I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't think it was a big deal...I've been pretty all my life - and no matter how good I was at other things and what I achieved - my looks were what I got the compliments in the most. It feels as though no matter what you do - you'll never be anything more than just a pretty face. I learned to spot those ppl and it makes me feel soooo uncomfortable when the person (usually a male), compliments my looks multiple times in a short convo. It's creepy to say the least. Make it clear that thats the only thing going through the dudes mind talking to me - to a point that he doesn't even realize how many times he said it and worse - uses that as a reason for any point he's trying to make. What if she was ugly? Would she be less deserving of a good life? I cringed each time you said it - and felt sad watching her get discouraged each time. What is horrific to think about, is all these girls got into drugs by either a boyfriend or family member. And why? The boyfriends know the girls can sell their bodies to make money to support their habits. It is all about money to an addict. I hate to say it, but this is probably why Jamie's mother got her own child hooked on drugs, to prostitute her body for money. My goodness, the poor child. These people have no choice; they cannot choose family, career, love, nothing. All they can choose is money. And this makes them vulnerable. And people take advantage of it.

@@donvandamnjohnsonlongfella1239 perhaps you should go to an open meeting for Narcotics anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous and listen to the stories of many people who have broken that cycle and help others to break that cycle. Perhaps you might think differently. I’ve been down that road of addiction, to alcohol, to various drugs, and even from having been prescribed an opioid pain medication, Vicodin and when it didn’t work for me because of my tolerance level, I was switched to Oxycodone and became addicted to that. It was horrible but I finally got off of them without going to rehab, although I don’t recommend detoxing off oxycodone without medical supervision because it almost killed me and if I’d had access to more I don’t think I would have gotten through it. I truly was so sick and I barely survived the two weeks it took to detox and I could barely function enough to get from my bed to the bathroom, so bad I had to crawl on my knees and elbows and sometimes my stomach to get to the bathroom, and puking and shitting myself and laying on the floor in pain and agony until it subsided enough for me to clean myself up enough to put on some clean clothes and struggle, shaking and freezing and at the same time feeling like I was on fire and having the cold sweats and soaking my clean T-shirt and underwear with sweat in minutes but unable to get enough strength up to change again and just lay in the bed and shiver and shake and my teeth chattering so hard I thought they would break and my muscles would spasm from shivering and my mouth and throat dry and my tongue sticking to the roof of my mouth and trying to take a sip of water so I could swallow because my throat was closing up and yet each time I would get a few teaspoons of water down my throat I’d puke it up as soon as it reached my stomach and my stomach muscles would knot up with spasms as I’d dry heave into a trash can once the water and stomach bile was puked out until I’d pass out. I was totally dehydrated and it took me weeks before I could stand up without shaking and sweating and shivering and being so dizzy I’d collapse to the floor if I wasn’t close enough to a chair or my bed. It took me three times of going through that same horrid experience of detoxing off of oxycodone/OxyContin before I was able to stay clean and Not use opioids again. I have only had to take an opioid painkiller that was prescribed one time and only because of oral surgery that was excruciatingly painful and was extremely limited and I switched to only ibuprofen and naproxen sodium within days even though I was still in great pain. It’s extremely difficult and extremely painful to go thru detox from some drugs, especially opioids like oxycodone, oxycontin, fentanyl , heroin and others. Some people go through it over and over again, seemingly never able to stay clean and sober, yet even after more than a dozen or many more times, they have succeeded and stayed clean and sober. Many times their families, friends, spouses or significant others and even their adult children have turned their backs on them and even told them they won’t be able to get and stay clean and sober and have told them how horrible of a person they are. Yet, there are people who will still help them. Not with by giving them money or trying to rescue them or save them, but with support, with taking them to meetings and helping them work through their issues, sponsoring them which doesn’t mean financially, but rather emotionally and mentally helping them to rebuild their lives, because it’s another person whose in recovery and has been through much of the same. It’s also how those who are clean and sober and have been working on their own issues and patterns stay clean and sober. Because when you are sponsoring someone you get to see where you yourself came from and remember what it was like before and how you yourself could end up again if you get too cocky, or think that you’ve got it whipped and also just how insidious addiction is and how it can sneak up on you when you least expect it, no matter what substance or behavior or anything that you have used or might turn to, and how quickly you can lose everything you have gained. And the biggest loss is not the things you lose, nor the people you love that you lose relationships with, new or renewed, it is the self esteem, self confidence, the sense of self worth you have gained, the self love and self respect that is the biggest loss. I know. I know because I’ve been through all of that. So, every person who is out there who is an addict of whatever they are addicted to, food, gambling, drugs, sex, pornography, money, and on and on, is simply a lost soul who is gripped by personal demons in the battle of their life. And many lose that battle. Yet there are many who keep on surviving and trying. Some lose their lives. Some are barely alive. Some recover and learn how to live again. No one should be completely ostracized or judged by others, although they are still responsible for their actions and have consequences for those actions that have harmed others or cost others or have broken laws which they have been charged for and will have to pay fines and or serve sentences in jail or prisons. It isn’t about escaping from consequences, because there are many who get clean and sober and then turn themselves in to authorities. It’s part of coming to terms with the past and getting honest with themselves. It’s a long struggle and it’s not a cake walk. It can be done though.

Fun fact: this person was my cousin. Her mom was the daughter of my grandparents who lived in Kentucky when i was younger. I remember hearing news on December 10th 2021 about the police finding her dead in a car in an office max parking lot in Canton Michigan about a mile away from my parents house. We went to go clear out the motel room the next day in Dearborn on Mich Ave with her mom. I also remember her mom(my aunt)was balling her eyes out durring a funeral visitation two days later on December 12th. I will add that some of this info Jamie(not her real name) is overexacterating some of this info.
