It's pretty normal. The Japanese culture is really different and there can be a lot of misunderstandings in interaction and behavior with westerners
@Lolidella823 жыл бұрын
I came here to say the same thing. I think westerners laugh out of shock because they're going so fast and one slip up could mean a crushed hand. They're not laughing at him but are actually impressed and shocked. But I can see how the laughter wouldn't translate well and could be misinterpreted. I'll be sure to remember that when I'm abroad cause I also sometimes laugh when I'm nervous.

Wow, I remember watching several videos of Mr. Nakatani in the past and thinking about how hard they work to achieve the perfect mochi, I mean, for a reason his business is still running after 30 years. The passion, discipline and work that this man puts in every day to make the perfect product goes beyond any limit. Before I did not know what mochi was, since in my country it is not sold or consumed but after seeing the popular videos that circulated of this man on the internet, I became interested, it looks so delicious. I love seeing the rice dough stretch out and have that chewy soft texture with the sweet and delicious filling on the inside. I always wanted to try to make mochi at home, but the glutinous rice flour that is used, where I live is not available and is too expensive. I also saw how easy it is to make it and that made me more insensitive, hopefully one day I can prepare some delicious mochis, not like this man, because he is an expert, but at least somewhat similar haha. It seems easy but it is not, there is a special technique to do it, from knowing how to make the dough from zero to calculating the moment when the mochi dough is hit or when to put water on it at the correct time to make it perfect. This man has been working for years to make the perfect mochis, he looks very passionate about his work. I am also very interested in what Mr. Nakatani said at minute 7:08, many times when you travel to another country you do not know that there are different traditions and behaviors, sometimes, certain reactions or actions can be rude to other cultures. I think it is important to inform yourself before traveling to another country, whether for work, vacations or permanent, since the country to which one travels should not be adapted to you, but you to the country. It is a way of showing respect to people of other cultures or traditions. As always Asian Boss bringing us extraordinary stories, thank you for your excellent work and I hope one day I will be able to try Mr. Nakatani's delicious mochis in Japan. Greetings from Argentina!

I hope some day the west can adopt some of the special cultures of the world since we share a lot of different races in our country. Its so cool to see things like this and UFO burgers.
