I been around Dobermans since I was a kid, my dad's friend has always raised boy Dobermans. Such big babies but still are extremely protective breeds

I've had three Dobermans. All of them were total sweethearts, a breeze to train, protective but sensible about it. My Cane Corso is the same. I think that good breeders these days are breeding very stable dogs.

Same with my current Cane Corso dog Tuxn. I had two dobermans. They were sweet and protective. Nice breed, but IV'e only had Cane Corso dogs since 2001. I'm addicted to CCs after first one. 😮❤

@@TuxnDog I feel the same way and I'd love to get another one. My husband wouldn't - he thinks she's too big and strong - but he admits she's a great, easy dog, I wish I'd got one much earlier.

PS I went to the vet the other day and he was not happy to see a Corso. He said he has a client who breeds his, and they've got vicious temperaments- so that's a disastrous breeder. WE need to do better and produce good ambassadors for the breed.

I grew up with Dobermann's . They are awesome loving and tender dogs. But they are very strong and they chose their pack leader. So they will not listen or take commands from everyone in your family. They will test te rest of the pack to see where the line is. Overall this is one of my favorite breed od dogs

Handsome dog. Every Doberman I've met has been very human friendly. A little extra when they're young. Definitely a case of the dog's image not quite matching reality in my experience, which is admittedly limited to 4 or 5 dogs.

Medium crop for me are the best, it's almost certain will both stand and will look identical. It's been over 40 years that I haven't owned a doberman, my last was a black and tan, American standard, strong build, the dog looked like a small great Dane. Amazing gallop, although rather heavy, seemed like featherweight as if he was walking on air. This lill guy for 11 months old looks kinda small but since he's from Serbia, means he's European standard. Red/tan is way nicer than the black/tan, not sure why but dobermans and rottweilers black/tan give me the impression of a dog that needs a bath, red/tan looks cleaner lol.....not sure whether his documents are in order, the k9 teeth look rather small, he looks more like an 8 or max 9 months old. There were issues in the past with dobermans, they are the result of 11 different breeds, one should only buy from a reputable and very experienced breeder. Any dog should be from a reputable breeder but especially doberman must come from a breeder with many years of experience. If possible, give us an update on his development, I would like, God Willing, to see this junior at 18, 24 and 36 months old. Thanks for sharing.

What a handsome feller.....speaking of big ol pearly chompers....my female GS has the best canines, they're so big she looks like a sabertooth lol, they pop out even w/ her mouth closed, she's got a narrow muzzle & it looks incredible at times. If only I could train her as good as ASDT 🤔

I'm not like a professional trainer or anything but from what I can tell - Ears are cropped to make the dog more intimidating, nothing more. It is considered immoral and illegal in some places because if you do it wrong it can really hurt the dog, but if done correctly it is harmless.

It's not just the males that give intimidating vibes... my females were *much* more protective than the males I've owned. Those who've owned this breed know they're VERY loving to their family. Maybe not so much with strangers... GREAT dogs, though. So very smart, not to mention beautiful. ❤

An old friend had 2 a male and female. The male used to scare the crap 💩 out of me. One day at a party in his house I was a little drunk was petting the female and it took a bit for me to realized I was petting 2. I really sobered up and slowly stopped petting him and he grabbed my hand and basically put it back on his back and I kept petting him. I'm crazy not stupid 😂. After that him and I become best friend.

Actually, Dobermans are very sweet and lovely dogs when brought up the right way. Yes, they are very fast and strong, yes, they can be very scary when in protection mode and showing their teeth. But actually they believe they are little kitties instead of 50 kilogram dogs when they want to snuggle with their human mom or dad 😂

Of your candidates, I'd go with the Rottie. German Shepherds bark a lot more than necessary and have a more serious personality with the family. Corso's and Rotties are big goofs and super affectionate with their people. Dobermanns are lovely too.
