Omg the people who don't understand what adopting from petco or petsmart is are really annoying. I'm pre-vet and in college right now. I volunteer at a few different animal rehab, rescue and humane organizations and they do send some of their animals for a few days or so to be housed in the adoption area of petco and petsmart. If you look at the animals tag with the name, type of animal and description it will have the name of the organization it came from if it is a rescue pet for adoption. THIS IS STILL A LEGITIMATE ADOPTION even though the animal is in a pet store!!! Sadly, many people who want a pet will immediately go to a store to buy one instead of looking for animals in need of a new home so it is a really good idea to put adoptable animals in those stores in the hopes people will choose them.

hey!! I'm not trying to hate or anything AT ALL! I think you're really pretty and your videos are great!! but just a few tips! the minimum for a better really is a 2.5 Gallon and it should have a heater + filter! yes they can survive in small tanks but they don't thrive! also its hard to tell if your geckos tank is a 10 or 20 gallon, but if it's a 10 then 20 is the minumum! also crickets aren't great for them, super worms are better but she still looks very healthy! again this isn't meant to be hateful at all just hoping to help out some!

I think the super worm thing is kind of a personal opinion because my leopard geckos are old and have been eating crickets their whole life, I have tried super worms but honestly I think they are worse because they have a harder exoskeleton and more of it than crickets and that can be difficult for them to digest

I have one tip on the betta, that tank is too small, and the water level is too low, petco and petsmart workers always say they can live in conditions like that but they can't and need at least a 2.5 gallon tank, it just worried me, im not trolling lol

Sarah Mcdonald There seems to be some confusion within the replies *2.5 gallons is the absolute minimum for a betta fish* although obviously more is better. Personally I have my betta alone in a 20 high planted tank and I would advise others to keep them in ideally 5 gallons.

i do feel 3 foot tank is bare minimum also a moss hide to aid shedding if you’re leo they eat there skin so ya won’t see them do this that also store fat in there tails for me i use a heat bulb on a pulse dimming stat and i have a uvb bulb set on a 12 hour timer as for the crap on the light hurts and there nocturnal is a bunch of 💩 yes they do hide but that doesn’t mean they go there whole life without sun light also my only criticism is maybe add some more decor as there isn’t much for her to do an play with if you have instagram i’m happy to show you my hatchlings tank an our adult leo izzy

JoVina Taylor my college fortunately does allow pets :/ one per person actually. So i have my hedgehog under my name, my gecko under my roommates name, and i never registered my fish. My RAs are super chill and nobody even notices him. Tbh i dont think you have to register them ao i don't really worry about him and ive never had an issue. With your situation i would just try and socialize with your gecko as much as possible so he isn't locked up all the time. That sucks that they dont allow it. 🙁

Aww! I love this video. So lucky you get to keep animals in your dorm! We were never allowed anything but a tank no bigger than a 3 gallon. So basically minimum a Betta. I have a ball python and getting a leopard gecko soon! Love all your animal children and your personality! Keep it up :)

I've had 2 leopard geckos, I recently rehoused them because I never had enough time to socialize. But yeah I was always afraid she would drop her tail but neither of them ever did, even when I tried to introduce them (a male and female) and they bite each other before I could separate them (they bit each other's tail like at the same time) and so yeah, but they never did. JoVina Taylor i did choose a random roommate, abd when i got her contact information i texred her and told her about my animals in a very polite way and told her how often i clean their cages and and how they dont cause any extra disturbances and she was very sweet back about it and was actually excited! At my college its only allowed one pet per person, and so i asked if she would claim my lizard in her name so i could keep both with me and she was okay with it! And as for my fish i just kind of snuck him in on my own, because i figured that nobody will really care about a fishy haha

JoVina Taylor and the hedgehog cage is kind of large but my closet doesnt have doors so i tuck it in there under my clothes, and my tank is kept on that bookshelf behind me, so that doesnt take up any room either. And the fish tank is pretty small and i sit him on my windowsill so that is nice and out of the way too! And my room is very very small, so really if you keep things organized and in place (and dont take too many personal belongings and close with you, trust me!) you should be just fine!

My lizard is always awake and watching and crawling around and my hedgehog is always fun to pull out and play with and its just nice to have more living things with you like that especially if you love animals and are away from home and dogs/cats etc.

My longest living betta fish was 5 years old. I had him when I was 7 and at the time I didn't know anything about betta fish so obviously he was in a small tank maybe 1-2 gallons. But always clean. It's science fiction and I have a gut feeling that it's going to be a good one. I've been writing since middle school for assignments and done a little fiction writing before but for some reason I never stick with it. I don't feel excited about it and I just..lol stop writing so I can tell this book isn't following the same fate as my previous ones. It'll probably take a couple years to get it just like I want, plus when you write a book it's almost never the same in the end as you're idea in the beginning so it evolves over time. This comment is getting long asf but xD lol yeah I want to be a wildlife vet, best-selling (hopefully lol you never know) author, and a couple other things. Harold Jay she was actually surrendered to petco by somebody else who previously owned her! She was only $15 (because thats how much it wouldve cost to take care of her during her stay). They didnt make any money off if her :-) she was just rehomed.

it's so cute how you're scared to hold your leopard gecko. my boyfriend and i own over 40 leos and i don't remember going through that stage lmao. also, mainly babies scream as self defense. their bites don't hurt at all, mainly older male bites hurt.

she would never try and bite me but she whips her tail out rarely so thats when I usually decide to leave her alone. Her coloring sometimes gets more vibrant as well

if she waves it around, that's her trying to distract you as a predator. if she's just wiggling it while you're picking her up, it's a balancing thing. and don't worry about her tail falling off, it's very uncommon unless it's pulled or stuck under something. leos are pretty hardy reptiles. and also i'm not trying to come off as rude in any way lol, it's hard to have a tone on the internet.

Jessicas Animals it actually is adopting. Adopting is rehoming an animal who had already had a home at a greatly reduced price. More than often at an older age as well (which is what i did). The money doesnt go towards any breeders considering it wasnt a breeder who owned her previously. The money goes towards what it cost to take care of her (it was only a $15 adoption fee which is extremely reasonable). They just "housed her" waiting for someone else to take her. Just like a humane society does. :-)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Missouri State only allows fish in dorms. I have researched this, and it was a major reason I chose Mizzou over MoState. The only reason only a dog would be allowed there is for service purposes. :( I don't believe there is a way around it.
