@@Patchy - One can never go wrong sharing cat family videos. "Sheriff's badge." Now that's a new one I've never heard. The accumulation in that area is not an unusual problem for really fluffy cats, so keep cleaning and he's likely to get used to it. Chances are he'll improve his personal grooming as he gets older, one can hope. The things we do for our fur babies... How you care for your pets and other animals says a lot about you. In your case, all of it positive. Thanks for putting a smile on my face. As for that "biting" problem, many decades ago my parents put hot sauce on my brother's thumb to stop him from sucking on it. There are a number of reasons why that wasn't such a good idea so I don't recommend it as a solution. Here's hoping he outgrows that (Tigger, I mean. Not my brother. He eventually did. Sorry, TMI.)

a tip for your,,,"shrapnel" problem giving his booty a trim every once in a while helps with that greatly! its actually something people with long haired cats/groomers do with some regularity it doesn't have to be super short, just as long as your average shorthair I get this is something that will make a lot of new longhair cat owners nervous, so do whatever you're comfortable with! but I figured I'd leave this here just in case :) tigger is the cutest little guy and I'm wishing you all many years of love!

I've actually got the hang of trimming him since this video was put together and it has made a real difference! Gave him a little bath first. Think that's what they call a wash and cut doon the salons.

I have a long-haired cat, and we shave most of his butt-hairs off so that it's easier for him to keep it clean. It's also nice to get them used to shaving when they're kittens, as some long-haired ones get real hot in the summer, and a trim can be real nice for them. Especially if they are used to the trimmer not scaring them. Congratulations on your gorgeous lil baby.

Getting a second cat has made both of our cats very happy. We have a lynx point Siamese and he needed lots of attention that we couldn't always give him so Lulu now keeps him busy.

It's good you get him used to grooming at an early age! A lot of people forget that cats might need to be groomed when they grow older and therefore forget to get them used to it. Those two look like two truly well cared for tibbies 💖🐱

Tigger is such a sweet, happy baby, and from the size of his feet, I think he's going to be a big cat! As a mum of multiple cats and one human child, I'd say Junior and Tigger are getting along very well already and will probably learn to cuddle soon. Tigger will likely consider Junior his mum and will love to be groomed by her if she's willing. About the shrapnel, you can take him to a groomer for a "sanitary trim" that will ease the problem (this has to be repeated, since the long fluffs grow back).

My dog used to chew wires as a puppy! Our solution was to paint or spray some orange listerine (a terrible flavored mouthwash) on anything we didn’t want her to chew and it worked immediately 😂

I used a bitter spray I still have the original bottle cuz it doesn't take that much that I got almost 20 years ago. Anything the cats wanted to chew on or scratch that I didn't want them to. I ended up using some of it to deter woodchucks going underneath our deck because it's non-harmful to animals so it works on all sorts of pests the ones in your home and the ones outside.

He is sooooo! cute. I always loved Tigger as well from Winnie the Pooh. I sing the Tigger song to my cat Theo almost every day because he is so bouncy. My cat is a Norwegian forest cat and I trim his bum so nothing gets stuck there. Theo also loves to show his all. This is a sign that he truly loves you and his surroundings. He even lays this way around our 100 lb Bouvier des Flandres, which he grew up with. They are a month apart. Both are now 4 years old and we have had many hours of enjoyment watching them play, doing zoomies together and cuddling. What a wonderful wee one. Tigger is full of personality, just like his papa. I have a long hair cat, and I would recommend giving him a "sanitary trim" on his hind end. It will make your lives easier. Apparently, Tigger is of the mindset that if you've got it, flaunt it.

What a cute kitten!!! When my (now 14 1/2 year old) male cat was a kitten, I had to use flexible, ridged wire conduit/cable sleeve or sometimes called wire loom that you use in cars to keep him from chewing on wires. He's still fascinated with things like wire ties from electronics and other things they use them for so I have to keep those well away from him but the conduit was a kitten life saver. Congrats on your new little one. Adorable!

As someone else suggested earlier, if Tigger gets what my vet calls "Klingons", you might try giving his surrounding hair a bit of a trim. You can do this carefully with small scissors, or with pet clippers. Easiest if you have someone else to help hold him. I had a double coated Manx who had this issue, and it really helped prevent unpleasant surprises around the house. If only I had ever found as effective a solution for her epic hairballs...oh, yes, Tigger will probably need extra brushing, too, when his full adult coat grows in. We used to have a cat that ate phone cords, back when phones had springy cords. Watch out for your phone charger cords if Tigger likes to chew. Tigger, Junior, and Harry are adorable together!
