How can anyone see this and not understand that drug addiction needs to be treated within the health system, not the prison system!
@woodulike2know3913 жыл бұрын
Legalize all drugs and our people wouldn't want the excitement or thrill knowing it's illegal. Most of these addicts lived completely normal "boring" lives. And were brought up completely normal as kids.
@StainlessTIG23 жыл бұрын
First off, there’s help for addicts. They can go through detox and get help through NA and AA meetings before they go out and commit a crime. Most crimes committed by addicts are premeditated. They know what they’re doing, and they know the consequences that they’re going to suffer by committing a crime. Remember, drugs are an addicts temporary solution. The real problem resided within them selves with or without drugs. Most drug addicts don’t want to put forth the effort and hard work to stay clean and work a rigorous program of recovery.

I'm so sorry you ever had to go thru any of those awful thing's, and more that you haven't shared with us! But how overjoyed I am to hear that you were strong and fought your way out of it! God Bless your Beautiful Soul, and may he have Mercy on you, keeping you happy, and safe from anymore unnecessary pain that life may ever try to throw at you again!!! I do want to tell you something tho, with the hopes that when you reflect back on your past life struggle's, you'll perhaps keep in mind that God works in crazy mysterious ways, for sure!!!... I've read, and studied Near Death Experience's literally every single day, since I 1st found Betty Eadie's book, "Embraced by the Light", in the early 1990's, and something I've learned about life, or the meaning of some live's, according to NDE's, besides the Law of Karma, is that some of us choose to go thru really hard live's, in order to teach certain other people Love, love for other's, as well as love for themselves! For example, a wealthy Lawyer who drives the same roads in the city everyday to work, see's the same crippled homeless man holding a sign, begging for food, and money. The lawyer not only see's him while panhandling, but has also seen him around town, struggling in pain, and hopelessness. This touches the Lawyer's heart, and forces him to reflect on his life, and all of the material, and nonmaterial thing's he has acquired, that the homeless man, and other's like him, do not have. He then realizes that he has way more than any one person ever really needs, and now, bc of seeing the man in need every day, has decided to open, and fund an organization that helps, and houses the homeless, and other people in need, as well as to make large donation's to other charity organization's! Do you understand the point? You and God, may have decided pre-birth that you too would sacrifice your life in such a way, and in return save many other's, or even only 1 other soul, by giving them the safety, love, and happiness that your life was missing at that time!! You never know, but whatever the reason, I'm sure that eventually it was a blessing in disguise, bc now you have more empathy, and compassion than the average person, for other's who are also struggling, and going thru similar situations as you once did! It's really beautiful, and opens your eyes to a lot, when you think about the complexity of Life, and the way God constructs our live's, with the soul purpose of teaching us all how to Love More, and Love Better....like Him!!! 💕🕊️💕

@@howdareu964 I wanted to, you can’t quit unless you want it. That’s straight up facts. I didn’t want to be on the streets, hungry and ridiculed by society anymore, and I had been stabbed by a man I thought I loved while he was high, so that was a wake up call. Also, I wanted a family and a home, so I quit and went for it. I now own my (very small,) business and I am doing pretty well, besides some gnarly PTSD from being attacked a couple times... I think I’m doing OK for someone who’s been through hell and back. As a former homeless person (who learned from the mistakes of friends and family who had become drug/alcohol dependent, and did not go there myself), I know her heart sank like a rock when he said he would "come back with stuff next week". 1) I can tell she desperately want a safe place to sleep, even if for one night, and 2) REALLY REALLY wanted a shower more than anything, and some clean clothes, and maybe a meal. And I know if it had been me, I would have traded the meal AND the room for a clean set of clothes/under wear and some full size hygiene products. Also, people frequently tell homeless people "I will be back XXXX day or time and I'll bring this or that." , and they more often than not, they don't. Maybe RL gets in the way, maybe they never intended to, and maybe they did it out of meanness. Who knows? There are both plenty of angels out there, but also plenty of nasty people too.

I’ve seen many interviews of addicts but this one really touches me. She said the people are the hardest thing to cope with. I’ve said a prayer for her and I’ve added her to my list If she can’t hang in there in this life God will embrace her in the next Somehow I think she will get free

Omg yes Mae this poor girl really has gotten to me. She really looks like she needs medical help. I remember when i went into the hospital for treatment they put me in the psychiatric ward for awhile before i could even start treatment. I was where Sharri was. But i would not go in untill i wanted to and i was ready.

@Frank Garrett but you never know what made her start drugs to begin with. What she might have gone through in life that hurt so bad that she turned to drugs. Let's not judge other people.

As an addict in long-term recovery, my heart goes out to this woman; her story is only ONE of literally thousands & thousands of forgotten men & women who've lost EVERYTHING to the horror that is addiction. I'm in my 4th year of recovery now & still attempting to mitigate the damage and destruction after addiction left my life in RUINS but, even still, I know that I am one of the 'lucky ones'; most people DO NOT recover from addiction! As a formerly-homeless woman myself, my heart aches for this woman, Sherri, as it seems she doesn't have anyone behind her. I pray for her well-being & safety; thank you for shedding light on this growing population of 'lost people' who are at the mercy of the hell that is addiction; it's important to remember that these people are mothers and fathers, sons and daughters. They're human-beings, worthy of love and safety and kindness also!!! Addiction is literal HELL!!! No one "chooses" this life for themselves!!! No one says, "when I grow up I want to be addicted to heroin and crack and live on the streets after my entire family abandons me"!! Remember that when you see these individuals, that they're human first, worthy of compassion and kindness!! Dear God I DO NOT miss that life of addiction and I am blessed to be where I'm at in my journey! Sherri dear, you're in my thoughts and prayers sweet girl. May He protect and comfort you in your path ❤️❤️❤️

@@deemoneycashletsdebate432 don't rush getting off the methadone. Unfortunately this is my 3rd time around on methadone, in at the lowest dose I've ever been on this time around. Thank god I was able to catch my addiction this time before I got really deep into it again, I'm a recovering pill addict. And trust me when I say you want to take your time and don't rush your recovery, if you need to stay on the methadone because you feel as though you might not be ready then by all means stay on. I've been on it this time for almost a year and am in no rush to get off, when I'm ready I will, even if it's a few years from now. Congrats on your sobriety! Keep thinking positive!!❤

Bi I"m Alicia, your story gives me hope. Im 40 and a heroin addict and Ive been using since I was 14. I"m trying to get up the nerve.to goto rehab, but Im so scared. Scared I'll go and come out amd do the same thing all over again. Please tell me how do u live sober? I've never lived sober and it scars me to death. How am I gonna cope with evedyday life without numbing my feelings. How am I actually gonna face my emotions with no cover up? Does this make sense to you? How do u do it? Im looking to go for at least 90 days. And ive done the methodone b4 but gonna try and do it with any kind of side help. So anything you can tell me would be great to help me face the unknown. Congrads on your success.

Ok, but they are grown now. They’ll take everything from you if you let them. I’ve tried to help a few people in my family, and they lied, stole, manipulated, and used me. I lost so much because of them. I had to completely cut them off, because it hurt me too much to know what they were doing. One of them, will still just randomly text me for something. Never again!
