In this video we break down EVERYTHING we know so far about the new Arcanist class coming to ESO in 2023!
The new Aracanist class for ESO is going to have some main similarities with other classes as you would expect but with also some new gameplay mechanics thrown in.
For starters we know the 3 class skill lines will similar to new classes like the Warden and Necromancer which included dedicated lines for Damage, Tanking and Survival and Healing. We also got the class skill line names which are Herald of The Tome, Apocryphal Soldier and Curative Runeforms. You might already get the sense that this class is heavily based in theme and abilities around Hermaeus Mora and Apocrypha with references to Tomes, Runes and Apocrypha itself!

personally im HEAVILY disapointed that spellcrafting isnt coming and more than that, that either the pr team lied or just made the biggest fuck up with the english language so far by saying we'd be getting a *NEW FEATURE* we all have wanted for a long time not understand that a new class is a new *ADDITION* to a very fuckin old feature we had kinda become content as it was so long as we got like spell crafting cause it still could fit in the game and work within the balance while still being fun. rly like someone at ZOS was probably fired some time before the event when basically everyone was in universal agreement that spellcrafting was being added with a new found fervour for spellcrafting which at this point im convinced the devs probably fucking deleted from the game all together with no intent to ever do anything it the idea again. beyond that i at least love the look of the class and it seems to totally fit my playstyle and look really damn badass and the theme fits the sort of wizard charactes hell bent on uncovering the hidden knowledge of the world so on that front, i give them 110 outta 100 even if the pr / dev team made a second oopsie by literallly adding the firesong druids with fucking unarmed martial arts it looks like only to NOT add a monk class. i will say that as for what i want going forward, i would love to see a spellbook weapon be added to the game with perhaps a similar 3 variants to the destro staff where there could be blood, arcane, and necrotic with arcane would be crit and pure dps and apocrypha changes to the lines abilites and it would play into the arcanists special new thing, necrotic would basically be liike a resto staff but with the necrotic blue coloring and perhaps a focus on using corpses allowing none necros the ability to interact with the corpse system, and blood would basically be the inbetween focus'd on siphoning and tieing in with the nightblades siphoning line and providing healing passives while having the abilites be more siphoning, hybrid dps healer orientated. like that or perhaps adding a unarmed line that lets us use those badass unarmed animations the firesong druids have got would be badass and either way i think it would be fair the not give these new weapons any of the old styles from the start only adding them as time goes on based on what the community wants as well as adding them to the roster of weapons for styles AFTER their release.

all in all i guess you could say its almost weirdly a sated dissapointment. like overall im disapointed it wasnt spellcrafting hardcore but at least pleasently suprised that the class idea i heard someone mention as a idea of a mage using apocryipha magic was actually correct as mora is honestly my favorite daedric prince and i love his magic and even actually would find that if i were in TES than i would honestly likely 'worship' mora in that i would work for him and help fill apocrypha with knowledge all the while doing my damndest to never just give into worshiping him as i want more knowledge as much as the next guy and with any deal that doesnt lead to mora getting to use me as his plaything, i'd take it but never would i offer him my soul outright as i like the world and people too much to do that and go that far.

This is basically like the warlock class from D&D and you've selected Hermaeus Mora as your patron. I dig this. If they'd make more classes based around Daedric Prince's, people would love them.

@@sirossinner The questing wouldn’t bother me to much if they had also introduced a way to make overland content more challenging for those who prefer that, but the thought of doing the exact same content the exact same way as I have already done numerous times before just doesn’t appeal to me. Not upset with a new class at all, it’s something many people wanted and I’m delighted for them that they’ve got it, but without the ability of changing my main via a class change token, it just doesn’t do it for me personally

The class is interesting but I think what we need more than classes are damage types and weapons. A tome, wands, and a onehanded melee (not one hand and shield) option for casters Crossbows, spears, maybe a flail for stamina Blood, the blue fire, soul/necrotic, oblivion damage types on staffs if anything for thematic reasons. That green magic they keep showing the elf using in trailers yet we never get.

@Fusionfz That has always been a problem, yes - and it's very directly related with the scarcity of tanks and healers. Companions could have been a solution if they were competent DPS and available from the start, allowing you to start training as a healer or tank from Level 1, but they aren't.

Something I've been thinking about... is the combo point system really that unique? I mean for all intents and purposes it's basically just seems like it would be a more mechanically enforced version of the stam morph for necromancer's skull or that one whip morph dks have... or grim focus, or bound armaments. Seems like there are alot of places combo points could overlap unless they add reasons to spend them at less than max stacks.

The thing I'm most excited about the cinematic trailer is the dark elf with non-red eyes. A solid visual proof that not all dunmers have the typical red eyes. Obviously it's not a mistake or the devs forgot the lore. For someone of a bit OC, i can finally make a dunmer character with black eyes and not worry about the lore. LoL. I know it's not a big deal, but for me it kinda is. 😅

Definitely a nice job portraying the new content! Do you have any thoughts on the 'endless dungeon' with a partner that they mentioned? Why was it important to plant that seed? Perhaps its too early to speculate. This question came up in my mind when you talked about spell crafting in another video, so I came back to this video.

I have a pretty strong feeling that this expansion was already being developed even before the release of High Isle, and likely even started pre-production when Blackwood was released. Which goes to show that ZOS 100% knew what we wanted, anybody who could read the room knew that the playerbase was craving for a brand new class to be added along with some brand new systems, however, due to how most GaS development pipeline tend to work... only now were they able to meet on those demands. Just look at Destiny 2 for example, who uses a very similar "Yearly Expansion" format... For 2+ years, people have been asking them to revamp and change both the buildcrafting system and the seasonal structure, and only now, after 2 expansions releases are we getting those two most requested features with Lightfall. Now doesn't that sound familiar...

Spellcrafting probably isn't a great fit for MMOs but I definitely relate to wanting more life for our old toons. Aside from the Keen Eye: Treasure Chests passive from Greymoor, the last time our old vestiges got a new capability was with the Psijic line from Summerset.

As a WoW refugee who’s now been in ESO for just about 2 years, this looks exactly like they crossed a WoW Warlock with a Rouge and then threw in a bit of Death Knight, and I absolutely love it! Hopefully everyone isn’t too distracted by the shiny new class though. We’ve still got BCC classes sitting next to SSA classes 😂

Shapeshifter druid will always be my favorite class. ESO doesn't have enough buttons for it 😔 Not unless it didn't have weapons at all. Instead the front bar would switch to that shape-shifting abilities. Back bar would be the 5 different shape-shifts we can morph into.

I have problems with whole 'Shapeshifting druids'. They worship Y'ffre ... same Y'ffre who kills bosmers who dare to use their natural (!!!) ability to shapeshift ... no way Y'ffre would ever let druids to abuse shapeshfiting. Hircine likes shapeshifting, not Y'ffre as far as game went before High Isle.

Shadow Over Morrowind The Dunmer Horror Lovecraftian cosmic horror is my favorite genre of horror, Hermaeus Mora my favorite daedric prince, and the Arcanist looks amazing! I'm stoked!

Can also buy crowns in-game with gold just takes more time investment then buying it with real money but when I had no job years ago I did that

@@llawlied6902 I too did that but gold to crown prices are super up there this year. The last time I could buy Crown Store items it was 300gold per Crown! Inflation is crazy, while I'll have $35 by June, it'll likely go for something else. It's not so much buying the Xpac, as I've been a long time-ish player [since Morrowind Chapter] and my in game bank is so full then my mains inventory is full [of event boxes that I can't open because of full inventory] so if I really wanted to play, I'd have to get plus just to be able to 'play' and have a good time. What can I say, I LOVE LOOTING! And... Collectors Editions, since ESO does not have Dynamic Pricing, It's more worth it to me to buy the Collectors from the get go than to pay for the collectors edition goodies later on as it costs more to buy separate at a later time than to buy the Collectors [upgrade] first. so $45 + $15nTax is a lot to stomach. I'll wait til the fall sale, maybe QuakeCon will have a discount for the new Xpac? I forgot.

I was thinking the combo system would work like molten whip, where other skills build stacks when used that increase weapon and spell power then molten whip spends those stacks to hit harder.
