I have had this breed for thirty plus years and if you once own a Borzoi you will never want another breed of dog, as much as they look elegant and regal they can be complete clowns and goof balls they have a wonderful personality and are loyal and very gentle.

You see Borzois in films from the 30's & as stage performers in the movie. The Great Ziegfeld , I think. I mean, I know it was Borzoi but I'll have to check the Movie title! Sometimes they are called Russian Wolfhounds because the Czars (and only royalty) used them to hunt wolves . My family owned a dozen of them in the 50's (Borodin Kennels). Very tall but tend to be calm, almost regal but liable to be one clown in a group of them. Love their looks !

I have one mix breed. He is fourteen. One I had twelve years Tampa. Stolen. Still waiting she was seen around. After ten years. Couldn't press charges she was shuffled around. I'm sorry to share this. But alloof is her saving grace. She was treated horribly. Shuffled from 8houses. Three mean one of the three the worst. With chiwawa blood. She kept on living. Still I offer rewards. Suing the worst creep soon with police reports. The animal services were doing nothing. Have no Records? There's more to this story. Sorry can't go into here.
