What most people in UK/US don't realise is that the English we learn in Africa and 3rd world countries is the text book English - proper Queens English. So people are often surprised at the content, though often put off by the ascent.

For the people who recorded this, I just wanted to say this was a well made video with some really nice shots of the car. The only critique I have is you got a bit repetitive as you mentioned the center locking dif about 3 times or more, but other than that small thing I enjoyed this video!

I was going to say it looks like a scaled-down older generation RAV4! Now that I've read some of the other comments, it makes sense. All of the little oddball off-roaders are neat, the Suzuki Samurai, the Geo Tracker, Isuzu Amigo, ect. The world needs more!

A great overview of you Terios. We have them in Northern Ireland and they were very popular. Sadly they are no longer made for our market. A friend of mine has one and he thinks its wonderful, especially when he found out Toyota were involved in its mechanicals. Happy motoring :-)

This is actually a cool car, it was release in the same time the RAV4 3rd gen was released but shares its design with the 2nd gen. But underneath it has nothing in common with a RAV4, it has a longitudinal engine and a solid rear axle. It's not a super heavy duty truck but it's quite capable for its size and can endure a very rough terrain with its simple design. As stated in the video it is a real full time 4WD with a true center diff lock. But it also have a rear LSD as standard (even in 2WD versions). Really cool for a cheap and small car !

My mom had a 1st gen Terios. They are tiny tall little crossovers witch make them famous in my country for flipping over easily. But unlike all crossovers in the US the Terios is RWD in the lower trim levels. They drive and feel just like tall sedans. The engines was 1.5 I believe and a 5 speed mt. Very reliable and dependable little suv. They sold many of them thanks to Toyota who sold them on their dealer network despite being Daihatsu brand people considered them just as babies Toyotas

with a different branding perhaps yes, but back in those years (2006 - 2012) US was heavy on big SUVs. The car isn't very good at highway, its noisy and has a slow top speed, luckily where I live you almost never use a highway, unless you are heading to another state. Otherwise I love this car.

Do you know the split between front and rear in normal driving conditions? In the automatic model. Is it front wheel drive until the wheels slip, and then power is send to the rear?
@outdoorfugitive2613
@outdoorfugitive2613 Жыл бұрын
Permanent 4 wheel drive. In the automatic transmission version, only the transmission is different. It doesn't have much electronics as it is a relatively old car. The power is sent to the rear axles by a shaft. Good old mechanical systems. It doesn't understand the traction loose. But some of them have limited -slip diffs. You can search for them If you want detailed info about what limited slip diffs do.
