It seems to me that these new generation Epson printers 🖨️ are not built to last!! But Epson marketing department is saying the smaller size and weight are a feature. Just look at the Epson P5000 etc to see what a well built A2 printer 😊should be built like. The Canon versions, Canon pro 300 & Canon Pro 1000 are built like tanks. In fact the Canon Pro 1000 weighs more than twice as much as the Epson P900, that should signal to you the difference in build quality. I’m afraid Epson has cheaped out here. I know a well known UK inkjet paper manufacturer that says that the Epson P700 & P900 have been nothing but trouble for their customers, so much so that they don’t even bother with them anymore.

I am now on my third Epson P900 printer in 10 days. This printer has yet to print to my third party fine art paper (neither Moab or Canson). Epson technicians in Long Beach, California have advised me that this printer is built or designed to ONLY print on Epson paper. How the printer can differentiate between third party brands I do not know. Furthermore, the front feeder of the P900 that I have will not print on Epson Hot Bright paper, though the Epson technicians recommended to me that this paper be fed via the front fine art feeder. All in all, my experiences with the P900 have been extremely discouraging.

You can print other brand papers, just need Color management and ICC profile from the paper, no issues.

Waited 6 months for mine... finally got it 2 weeks ago and the unit was defective out of the box (Violet channel would not work). Very annoyed, but a replacement is already on the way, so good customer service I guess :-/

Just setup my P900. The setup initialization used about 60% of the ink. So yes the printer comes with a full set of ink cartridges, but more than half is used to setup. I do have one question: The demo showed some examples of poster board prints that were produced using the front feed. I checked the Epson papers and the 1.2 mm Enhanced Matte Poster board comes in 24x30 inch. What was used in the demo? I would like to try some if available if something that fits the P900 without cutting it beforehand.

I had to send mine back 2 times, they were both faulty. I’m hopping this third one holds up, so far it seems to at least print. The first two didn’t. I love an epson printer though, I’m upgrading from an R2880.

I've read that both printers will not be available until the 4th quarter(2020) at the earliest in the US.

Thanks a lot for the detailed information. One question: Are the PRO10 inks the same as the PRO12 inks (for the P7570/9570 printers) in the matching colors?

I asked Epson USA support and they verified that the PRO10 and PRO12 inks in the matching colors have identical formulations. I would never buy third party inks but if refillable cartridges become available, this is good news since a 350ml PRO12 cartridge costs *half* as much as a 50ml PRO10 cartridge in terms of $/mL ink.

I bought my P900 in Switzerland and there was very little ink in the cartridges. Very disappointed!

When will the Epson Print layout become available for the P900 - have downloaded from the Epson site but it tells me that the 'Printer is not found. Install printer Driver and restart application.' - The printer is working and the drivers are present but it look like the the app is not working with the P900 - any insight into this issue??

Hello I am looking for a printer able to print on Transparent Paper for digital negativ . I am using them for Cyanotype Is the P900 able to get good result on Transparent paper A2 and Roll ? Is there the possibility to choose transparent paper in the print menu ? Kindly

Soooo i now have the Epson SC p900......although i am disappointed because a question was asked if the p900 came with full inks, the answer was yes.......you 2 work for epson and are misleading people with a lie.......so i think you need to apologise to your customers.

To my understanding the ink cartridges are full. But you loose about 75-80% during the first fill of all lines...that was my observation earlier today

Only for rich people, enthusiasts, artists. I'm printing 5-10 A4 fots/week for myself and my family on L3060 but the quality is not making me happy any more and photos are becoming faded after some time. I would very like to buy SC series (P900 possibly) if the cost of operation was close to printing on Epson Lxxxx class printers. Cheers from Poland.

You can always check something like Epson xp-6100 with refillable cartridges. Fill with ink for ET-7700 to have claria longevity for cheap.

you sound like an enthusiast, or you wouldn't be here commenting, I'm sure... dive in and get one :-). You can always resell it if it doesn't suit your needs, but I can't imagine the printer making you unhappy. They are wonderful!

Después de comprarme una EPSON SC P900 en enero 2021 y 3 meses intentando q me reparen la impresora ya q da fallos al imprimir PAPEL POSTERBORAD no he recibido solución de arreglo ni cambio de impresora por parte de EPSON. Mucha suerte y que no os pase a nadie mande 26 mail y al final tuve q desistir ya q encima me costaba a mi el papel de mas de 25 pruebas. Un saludo

Mirage may have a solution (not Epson, they never work to improve their material after selling it). Epson does not care about Baryta and Thick paper because it is from their concurents.

There are no informations about availability status in EU. No answers from EPSON side since months... It would be better to say that it is not clear for the next 6 months but to say nothing is the worst approach. So I will go to Canon. By the way the P900 will not be delivered with full

No. The older p800 has one less cartridge and has 80ml cartridges, where as the p900 has 50ml cartridges. The P700 has 25ml cartridges, P900 uses 50ml cartridges so cannot be swapped between the 2.
