People understand that Guardisn dogs are bred to guard and that's what they love to do. Dachshunds were bred to dog out badgers ... so digging and having big attitudes is what they do. You can name other breeds bred for specific jobs ... that they love to do. Huskies were bred to pull a sled and run. In fact, their physical make up is specific to pulling: they have certain muscles in their chests for pulling that other breeds don't have. I helped one of my high school teachers in Nome, AK, train for the Iditarod... twice. If you want to make a sled dog sad, don't pick him or her to go on a run that day. My teacher gave me a dog: Moses. He was a behemoth of a husky who always ran wheel position (right in front of the sled). He was a great wheel dog! ... but he had a problem with bullying whomever you put next to him in harness. I kept him 1 year. He became more and more depressed. I finally gave him to another friend starting to race dogs. Talk about a happy dog!!! And apparently Moses took that year off as "time out" for his behavior: he never bullied another running mate. Yes, they LOVE what they do because it's in their DNA. Huskies know who they are and what they're meant to do. They're happiest when they're allowed to fulfill their purpose. Humans should be so lucky!

I worked in dog sled racing. The claims of abuse are real af. A sled dog rescue competing in racing is an oxymoron. There are tons of abused and abandoned dogs from a very small group of people. And the layout of their kennel isnt anything special. This kennel doesn't get a pass from me as a previous industry insider. Never lost a dog in racing or training? What an incredibly low bar. We should be able to spot abuse without having dead dogs on our hands. By then its far too late.

😂 clearly you know nothing of dog sledding and the breeds that LOVE to do it. I do urban sledding and my dogs are so happy and enthusiastic to start their day, and want more. I’ve never forced them to do ANYTHING they didn’t want to do. Animal abuse comes from people like you that don’t understand what dogs love.
