He smuggled Wakandan beads, all the way from the Marvel Universe, (they just behave differently in the DCU) then he tweaked, and flattened them, into killer fashion accessories. C. They are actually multiple, separate, pocket dimensions* with different devices/tools/weopons stored inside each one. _ala. Ultra Violet. *Not numerous, mini gateways to _A_ single polka-dot/"dalmatian" dimension, like Marvel's The Spot. Any other ideas?

@captainfalconer58694 жыл бұрын
As silly as this character seems, he might have been a really interesting foe for Batman. Think of his Polka-Dots as something like Batman's utility belt. This allows for the character to always be prepared for every eventuality regarding his plan (whatever that may be). The secret of how the polka-dots work may be the best way to ret-con the character. It doesn't have to be the person who was the original Mr. Polka-Dot. Some washed up hacker could find the suit or plans for the dots and become the latest cyber criminal of the DCU. A lot of potential with this one...

I might be in the minority but I'd like for more of these silver age characters revitalized in modern comics like how Zur-En-Arrh was in Morrison's run
@tygrkhat40874 жыл бұрын
Morrison likes to take obscure characters and throw them in the mix. In his current Green Lantern run, he used a character called Halk Kar, who was introduced in the 50s as "Superman's lost brother," who turned out to be a space traveler with amnesia. When his amnesia was cured, he resumed his travels. The story was slightly reworked for Superboy and the "lost brother" turned out to be Mon-El.
@jayinsult4 жыл бұрын
I may be in an even bigger minority, but I love to see an old crazy idea revisited, but I often find Morrison's ways of doing so clunky at best and incoherent at worst. And I was a big fan. I just feel like at some point the guy read his own press and started to believe his own hype.

Several things: 1- Out of all the craziest DC characters never in my life I´d thought he´d be making it into live action much less a movie. 2-We can be sure that, if anything, T-Shirts of his costume will be for sale when the movie comes out. 3-Will they make a joke in the movie about a certain specific spot of the body? Like if he can use it as a weapon like the rest of the dots in his costume? 4-I don´t like that they are going to have Arm-Fall-Off-Boy in the movie because the character was created to be made fun of and not to be an actual character in the comics. 5-Please read Grant Morrison´s The Green Lantern as is it a modern take on the Silver Age of the character. 6-At some point do a video on Creeper and Orca. Does anyone think it is possible we´ll see her in live action? Maybe because King Shark will now go to the movies she could take her place in The Flash TV show.

Characters like Polka Dot Man are really fun for me to try and tinker with in my head and figure out how you could make the character work. The idea I had was to go a little Lovecraftian and make the dots something otherworldly and maybe even make Polka Dot Man himself be something you can only loosely interpret as a bunch of dots. Or maybe you could do something maybe with the character having synthesia that manifests as dots to explain the obsession with dots? It'd also be fun to see the character as a kind of meta villain that is aware of comics being half-tone printed and messing with the comic itself. That's a meta direction I've never seen done before.

I love that, at 2:13, even the opening blurb tells you things aren’t going to go well, for the Polka-Dot Man, saying: “...he almost became the Master of Batman and Robin! How he did this, and how he met his downfall, you’ll soon know as you follow the career of The Bizarre Polka-Dot Man” It’s nice of them to tell us that he only “ALMOST” defeats Batman and Robin; and that he also meets “His Downfall”, before the story has even started... ...I do so hate surprises haha.

As for the character himself, I'm absolutely gobsmacked his name isn't Ben Day, after the dot printing process used throughout comics history, which in turn was named after its inventor. On the nose? Not for the damn universe that gave us Roy G Bivolo and Edward Nigma, I say! Keep up the great work, and thanks for having me on this comic book journey! Crazy-Quilt has a special place in the Gotham City pantheon because he was Robin's first recurring villain (in Robin's solo series in *_Star-Spangled Comics._*

I'm just hoping theres a moment in The Suicide Squad where Harley is like, "Whoa! How'd you do THAT?" And he either says, "I'm the Polka Dot Man" or, "It's all in the dots"

I love how THE DARK Knight has a villain called the Polka-Dot Man. Who is full of colours.
