I loved the Waltons, and still watch it every day...❤

I’m just amazed that a show from the 70s is 100x more popular today tgan it was back during the shooting. I had a conversation with Eric Scott aka Ben, one night he told me same thing I had said, “A new generation of fans have made the cast of the Walton’s into American tv icons. The thought that 45yrs later we still talking about it is very amazing to me”- Eric Scott. I myself loved the show because it reminds me of growing up the exact same way in North Carolina. Very remote area of 80people in the town with one tiny store 1/2 block up dirt road from my grandmamas. The store was exactly like Godseys store in the show. Everything you need, plus pool table in back that we always played pool. Because my grandparents were so known to everyone an ran the town post office out of their front yard an back in the 1920s & 1930 ran the only store from their front room of house. Didn’t grow up as poor as Walton family on show. But still love the show an my all time favorite crush, Judy Norton aka Mary Ellen. I still watch the show all the time an bought every season an episode made. Thanks for the times an memories Eric, Kami, Mary, Judy, Jon, David Richard, michael & , RIP- Ralph, Ellen, Will, John Conley, Ronnie. Mary Jackson, Helen Cleeb, Merie Earle

Thursday evenings........ Thursday evenings........Thursday evenings...........The Waltons..........that day, and time frame was embedded in my soul , especially from the Baby boomer generation, as it was very special, seeing this family, as we all, as well as myself could escape our realities for the evening, and start our Fridays, & weekends sharing about the previous night's episode. A glimpse at a family who put God first. as well as their love for each other, and their fellow human beings.... Priceless

I grew up with the Waltons. I love the Waltons. I’ve tried to get my grandchildren involved with the Waltons and when I found out the B&B was opening up I want to take them down there. My grandmother was African-American and she left Virginia in the 1920s and came up to Massachusetts. She emphasized that we should stay out of Virginia and how dangerous it was. But when I watch the Waltons I didn’t feel that way. Three months ago I called the Bed and breakfast I talk to the owner. I explained my concerns because my grandchildren are African-American. The owner of the B&B told me it would be better if I did not come because it would cause problems. I knew what that meant. I offered to rent the whole house so there will be any problems and she said no. She said as being there would be a problem. They charge $200 a room and I was going to rent the whole house and she said no. Obviously the woman was racist and it saddens me. But it’s going to be her loss because she is behind the times if she doesn’t except a biracial grandmother and African-American grandchildren obviously she won’t except gay people and trans people or anybody else who isn’t like her
@HeritageWaysKatie3 жыл бұрын
oh my, this is so very sad to hear. I am not sure that the owner is the one who answers the phone or manages the house. We haven't been over there in a year but, the last time we were there, the owner, Carole, had a manager and Carole only lived part time in Virginia.
