i had a hard time doing playthrough with short tavs because of the height difference, it's mentally impossible to me to do romances while being super short like that. but recently i did start one with a gnome and it's really super cute ! i love the way the whole party be looking at me when i talk with other small characters 😭

a wizard is certain to be a nerd, sorcs while able to be nerds are only certain to be genetically gifted. so if you want someone with a lot of knowledge, it's more likely the powerful wizard to know of tadpoles than a powerful sorc, even if not impossible, just not statistically probable.

This is very different to my Tav's attitude to Gale. I haven't played that far yet, still in act 1, but I'm playing a sorcerer/bard who's wound up absolutely smitten with him. My headcanon backstory involves all of her magic having come to her fairly recently, and I like to imagine she's fascinated with the idea of someone who can actually *explain* to her the things she does.

I love Gale as a character. He is someone who was once arrogant due to his natural gifts and patronage, but has been painfully humbled (in a manner of speaking). In a way he feels a bit like Dr Strange. A formerly expert surgeon whose hands were crushed. He didn't lose his medical knowledge, but he can't perform surgeries like he used to anymore. He continues to act arrogant because the knowledge is still there, but now that his former powers have become crippled he knows that he is less than he used to be. So his current arrogance feels like bluster tinted with desperation. I mean, if he becomes a god you get a better idea of what his personality probably used to be like.

Pffff amateur. My first char is a Wizard - I travel with Gale. We are theWizatd Powercouple xD (I gave him 2 levels in Bard so he can be the ultimate Support - I gave my Durge 1 level in Tempest Cleric to get the Water spell - together we stop climate change! ((we freeze/electrocute everything)))

The problem for me is I tend to burn out easy, and since Gale is often in my group as a wizard, I have hundreds of hours of playing a wizard, so playing two at once would likely burn me out. Your play through does sound pretty fun though. :) My latest play through I was playing a Wild Magic Sorceress for a Gale romance. Sadly, my PC died last month, so I haven't been able to play in awhile. I was thinking of making Gale a Necromancer for that campaign, as I wanted to keep him a wizard but also try something different. Though if I do go that route I plan on getting some mods to flesh that spec out a bit.
