Naraka being cartoonish evil in a serious game just feels hilarious, I love this P.A. If I'm actually the administrator after end scene I'll fly back up and shove him in my shuttle just so that I can put him on the dinner table and listen to all of his "Evil Plans" while enjoying my insect jelly.

I love how the names of the planets in this sector are either from start trek or Warhammer 40k

I think they are actually from Rome's beginning. Palatine is one of the seven hills in Rome, for instance. Romulus and Remus are from the roman empire's beginning story.

Did you cut EDDEN last message before deactivation where she gives you an explanation for why she is hidding Romulus (and gives you the choice to continue or turn back and go for Remus) or did the event not pop up for you?

It did, you have to click on a request icon in the Tiqqun for it to happen. He just didn't notice

@@p_serdiuk if I remember right, it basically says the reason they blocked info about Romulus is because the people at DOLOS “knew” that we would become unreasonably fixated with Romulus even though it supposedly had a lot of issues that made it unsuitable for human life. Given how devoted DOLOS and the Ashtengites are to that whole “genetic conatus” and “follow the self-similar pattern” thing they had going on throughout the game as well as what we see on Remus, my interpretation is that they basically developed a pseudo-religion due to Earth’s ecological destruction revolving around becoming one with nature and abandoning industry as the only way humanity could ever survive; essentially becoming, as Nilaus put it, space elves. I guess they thought that if we knew Romulus was an option, we would just continue on with what we knew and re-establish industry that would pollute Romulus and repeat history. Again that second paragraph is just my interpretation of what DOLOS and the Ashtengites were thinking from playing the game and watching Nilaus’s play through.

@@grantcawby7225 Ah, makes sense, thanks. I thought that with the EKP drive technology it should be possible for humans to travel to Remus anyway, and learn some tricks from the Ashthangites, avoiding the repetition of Earth's fate. They still have those 20 shuttles.

@@p_serdiuk yeah. I didn’t really buy into their whole thing anyway so I colonized Romulus on my play through. I felt the same way that the colonist could learn a thing or two from Remus and, without the pre-existing societal baggage from Earth, could set up non self-destructive industry. Besides, the game literally says Remus is helpless against any form of space borne threat like the Piranesi. Since we don’t know what else is out there, not having some sort of means to deal with it seems like setting humanity up for failure later on.

It's weird that Remus is asking you to deal with Piranesi, when you have decided to colonize Romulus. That seems to only make sense if you go with Remus, and would serve as the ticking clock. I guess we assume that the Piranesi will attack romulus next, and that's why it needs to be stopped?

Ok this is spoilers so you've been warned: Yes that is literally what the Piranesi does if you let it reach Remus, it super-lasers Remus and then starts heading to Romulus to do the same.
