I suspect the muted laugh was because the crowd wasn’t sure what the precise gag was. They were probably thinking ‘does she mean they put their valuable stuff away or their borderline racist stuff away?’ You never want to overexpose in comedy, but this probably needs to be more specific to get a bigger laugh.
@darkwitnesslxx3 жыл бұрын
It's multilayered. Everyone puts their stuff away when guests come over, it's called cleaning up. But it also has the other meanings. It's a very good joke.
@tchai913 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen her tell this joke multiple times and it never gets a big laugh because it’s unclear what she means. If it’s a reference to ‘everybody’ putting their stuff away when guests are coming, then why that look after the joke? I was the only one with a car in our group at college, so I would drive people home at holidays, we all lived near each other. I was dropping my stuff off at my Irish grandmother's for the semester break and we went in and I introduced this great friend of mine a beautiful black girl. S o I introduced her as my girlfriend she nearly fainted. We all laughed.

ChkMte clearly not comfortable holding a microphone. Still new to the game of public speaking. Those pauses are nerves while she thinks about what to say next. Much to learn and keep working on the delivery.

She's got it. Is it me or are female comics getting better? There seems to be more funny women now than ever, good to see.

I've had 3 mixed black girlfriends All 3, white mother... father that left when they were young... white step-father that works hard... black uncle that used to touch them (or worse) I kid you not. All 3 of them. The 3rd time, I almost took the words out her mouth when she hesitated to tell me about her uncle... who is still part of her family despite everyone knowing he touched her when she was 12. Step up to the plate, black fathers... and step away from the plate black uncles.

I love comics that can see humor & poke fun of their own culture and upbringing. This is what made Jeff Foxworthy, Margaret Cho, George Carlin, Ali Wong, Dave Chapelle, Chris Rock, ... so great.

Hair touching comment- we’re “scared” to touch because we’re told not to LOL. Shampoo /condition& do up her hair together -you’ll learn a lot . Helps w/ intimacy too.

I’m from a mixed latino family so some of us have Afro and curly hair and some of us have straighter hair, like me. I want to learn how to care for curly and Afro hair for my nieces and nephews and cousins or a future partners potential kid, because I just remember seeing jewish and black friends in school always having a hard time with their hair either being made fun of, or telling horror stories of how some of their families had no idea how to care for it and treated it like a problem. Curly hair is beautiful and it should be celebrated And us with straighter or wavy hair need better hair care too. Especially white people, I see y’all over washing your hair way too much like hair does not need to be shampooed and conditioned every day 😱 please let your scalp rest and get some dry shampoo for when it gets a little oily
