2021 anyone? I had lost this song for quite a long time, I only remembered about it because I use to listen to this sound when I was angry. And honestly this is such a great song for expressing emotions.

Every other song I've listened to the past year has been on a list that just keeps getting bigger and passed up over time (listen for days, find something new, move on), but her songs are the only ones I come back and listen to on repeat. All of them. I don't skip a single one.

my playlists.....Bad Omens, Spiritbox, Chevelle, Slipknot etc etc.....or just METAL in general.....and then there is Meg Myers 😂😍 I'm a complete metalhead but in love with this woman lol. She is a gorgeous woman and a huge talent. I really dig her music. So much power and emotion in her vocals. And watching her live videos(especially seeing her playing that bass making love to it lol) is on another level entirely 🖤 Meg is amazing
@missyjones75572 жыл бұрын
I am a metal head myself...slipknot, bury tomorrow, feed her to the sharks, parkway drive, then there's Meg. I found her on total accident and it was the best accident ever!! The first song I heard was Desire because KZbin played it randomly for me. The second one was Numb. So I thought I would explore more of her. And I likey!

I'm a metalhead as well but I can't not listen to her, unbelievable. She's like an angel with jagged wings.

Same thing. True talent shines though irrespective of the music style. I bet if she was invited to some Hellfest, Summer Breeze, Wacken etc. she would've found a loyal crowd there too.

Meg is helping me through this hell..You are my queen.
@GothicTrunk9 жыл бұрын
Meg is going from first person to third person back to first person... Stevie Nicks is another artist that does this. It isn't set to any rules. It came out of her mind. That is how you know she is talented. Meg rocks. The chorus of Adelaide is in third person... she is speaking as Adelaide. The verses seem to be Meg speaking to us as herself. She goes back into third person until the end of the song when she goes back to the first verse.
@GothicTrunk9 жыл бұрын
Like the chorus is Adelaide doing what Meg is wanting her to do. Adelaide should let him go. But she doesn't. So Meg paints the picture of Adelaide being strong enough to say enough is enough. But at the end of the song Meg reminds us that it is all a fantasy. Adelaide is no better off than she was at the start of the song.
@GothicTrunk9 жыл бұрын
Meg's prayer for Adelaide is that she can do what is painted in the chorus....

Jeremy Doe I'm pretty sure lots of artists do that. I've noticed it with every singer I listen to.
@WynneL9 жыл бұрын
+Jeremy Doe I think you're confused, or maybe overthinking it. Meg takes on the character of Adelaide in this song, sort of speaking for people who've suffered abuse. With A's voice, she paints a picture of a person realizing they have to shed off the old, weak self who tolerated the abuse because she finally sees how pitiful it was--and to shed the concept of self that her abusive partner gave her. She leaves that person behind, tells her abusive partner that the battered, broken, beaten person of Adelaide is no more--she's being discarded because she couldn't do what needed to be done. She's breaking free of the old self, of Adelaide the victim. She's leaving to become a new person. "You can't hold me down, boy..." Listen again and you will hear the determination, the passion, the "it is OVER. You are DONE hurting me."

God speed. I stayed in mine for nine and 10 years later I'm still healing. It only gets harder the longer you stay. I died and was given a second chance and ran for my life quite literally. Sometimes you can find inspiration in the oddest places. I tripped over a box of books and Rose Madder by Stephen King fell out. I flipped it over and read the back and the similarities were uncanny. I ended up reading the book and strangely was experiencing the same things as Rose, the character in the book. I left my abuser while she was leaving hers. I am forever in her debt, maybe Rosie can help you too❤️🙏
