Since switching to a 32 inch, I mostlty work with multiple snapped windows instead of full screen windows. And then I began thinking about switching to more than 40 inches. It's so much better than 2 or 3 monitors hooked to the PC.

I borrowed today the 4K TV we have at this size to test it as a PC monitor and holly nuts!!!!! At 80cm (=2feet 8in) to my eyes (I know that it's too close but it was just a testing) everything was more immersive. Maybe the colours were a bit distorted and the interpolation kicked in but wow, it's like having a cinema in your desk! By the way, I didn't feel that it needed to be curved at this size and distance. Too bad that for PC monitors 43 inches are too niche or expensive.

I have a BDM4065UC 40" for 3 years and still struggling with its inputs (DP or HDMIs) and face black screens most of the time. It doesn't matter whether it is Win7, Win8 or Win10, it works at times (if you got lucky it gives you a windows screen), but you just can't predict it. Most of the time you would get a black screen. I am now trying its D-sub, it may work but it defeats the purpose of having a 4K monitor. I have tried both AMD RX550 and Nvidia 1030 graphics cards, both can support 4k@60Hz but still same black screen. Believe me, I am not alone. There are discussions on the handshakes on the internet.

"why the hell would you want to do that" Send the display port and the hdmi on your laptop, to the display then use pbp to have dual 1080p monitors without any bezel. Use a fire TV as a 3rd source and you've got a news feed/netflix/whatever playing, a spare source for another pc and your work laptop in dual monitor mode across the bottom. I feel like I'm in a command center or something with mine when I do that :)

I do video editing, and photo editing and I am wondering, do I go with a 43inch display to relieve some of the clutter or do I stay with the dual monitor set-up? Philips and computer monitors doesn't quite fit my perception of a perfect world. Light leakage, ghosting, bad viewing angle, crap Adobe RGB support etc. List of no no's are long. I would buy it just for the screen estate but sitting close to this at a desk painfully reveals the light leakage and dark corners etc. So then it would only serve as a second or third monitor, but then you would suffer big time from the bad viewing angle again. It's just a whole bunch of problems with this thing. Phillips should stick to making traditional TV sets.
