Loved it. Started out with Go Germany ! Then the Russians began counter attacking. It seemed that they either allied with the Byzantines or that the Russians and Byzantines were both fighting independently against Germany. I think that both of them did not have the industrial and resource base as Germany had. This perhaps gave Germany an advantage in technology too, which it was able to utilise through a counter attack that had a devastating effect. Fantastic time lapse

Now if only Paradox made a Cold War game, a Modern Day game, and a then a game that leads up to the 2200 start date of Stellaris. Plus, if you have the Charlemagne DLC for CKII, that's at least 1400 years of gameplay (and history) right there.

That's what I kind of want - And only Paradox are in the position to actually make it happen. A WWIII 3. What I would also like them to do is a Religious RTS, like screw the countries, but countries policy still had influence. I have an idea in my head about how it would go down. I've been trying to get the motivation to write up a paper about it and give it to Paradox in exchange for credits and a free copy of the game with all the DLCs lol

lol Speaking of WWIII, if Paradox did create a Cold War strategy game, perhaps that could be a possible DLC or even a scenario within the base game. Either way, there would have to be an option where it's like "Don't go to war or go to war" and then it becomes NATO vs the Warsaw Pact. The game would have to end in 1991. Modern day game, simple really: 1992 to modern day and Paradox updates it at the end of every year.

+Doctor Lemons The problem is, as someone who played the alpha of East vs West, there is a reason they cancelled it. Playing "Don't do anything or the world ends in two days" is exactly as boring as it sounds. There is virtually nothing to do as any country except USA and USSR, and frankly, 99% of players play Paradox games mostly for wars and having wars be discouraged without there being much else to do is, well, boring. This is also the reason 99% of HoI4 games played either start as or become, communist or fascist. Why? It is borderline impossible to fight any early wars as a Neutral or Democratic nation.

Only feasible neutral countries in that regard are Poland and China. There really needs to be a China based DLC... Spain is fun too, though boring after the Civil War (unless you're Republican Spain, since you don't get the national idea "recovering from Civil War")

Yeah, I did remember someone mentioning that an ideal Cold War Paradox game would be a spinoff of Vicky 2, since a lot of the political and economic mechanics in that game can more-or-less fit into a Cold War scenario.

oh yea, i remember, also during WWI, Germany was very close to winning the war, the only reason they lost was because of the exile of Kaiser of Wilhelm II. Germany lost WWII because of Hitler's mishaps (actually a good thing)

I've watched other mega campaigns before, and I like this one because of how coherent it is, most others are just a bunch of border gore that nobody cares about nor understands by HOI4, but this one was very clear, a war that was primarily Germany vs. Russia and Byzantine. Perhaps it was because the Holy Roman Empire was shown as one entity instead of dozens of little nations.

I like the concept within the CK2 timeline. The countries of the west for the part are free of the terror of the Mongols and this somewhat even the playing field. Outside of the timeline going into Eu4 and so on, like Daniel said it ruins exploration which is a large portion of EU4.
