Great review! I’d actually not heard of Sega making a Mini, so very cool to see a review of one! I’ve always had a hard time getting into the Mega Drive library for some reason, but the Mini II has definitely got me interested in trying more MD games! Great video as always!

It's a nice product but in Sega tradition it seems like a bungled release. If they had just waited out the chip shortage, developed further and did a proper worldwide release it would have made them a lot more money. It's not even available in Canada.

Yeah it is a bit weird they rushed the release, I’m sure it wouldn’t have hurt them to wait until it could be more readily available. I get it’s a collectors item, but it does seem rushed..

The USB Wired & Wireless Retro-Bit Genesis Style controllers work on these consoles for 2-player gameplay for puyo puyo. They can be had on ebay for about $12 USD

I agree with most of what you had to say but it’s not necessarily Sega that went through “so much effort”. M2 was responsible for taking the games and cleaning them up and or getting them ready for this device. From what I’ve seen and read they typically go WAY ABOVE and beyond, without sometimes getting any extra money for the extra work. They take pride in their work, which is a truly rare commodity these days. I’m sure there are still people/devs at Sega that also work on games for the love of it and do take pride in their work.....M2 really goes the extra mile. I’m assuming this was rushed out to have it available for the Christmas season. Thanks for the great video.

Yeah. M2 are amazing! I don’t know why Zega rushed it though if it was made in very limited quantities they would have still made the same number of sales after Christmas anyway as I’m sure collectors would but it regardless of the release date.. glad it was made though regardless!

Mine was a gift. I do think you can get a second controller for about $20 on Amazon though for the multiplayer!

I have bought an Original mega drive 2 some weeks ago. owner sold a lot of consoles. I payed 15 euros for it. He didn't knew if it worked. Bought an adapter (10 euro), no luck. Didn't seem to work. pulled it open, checked everything and looked perfect condition inside. Connected it to the tv, put in sonic the hedgehog and it fired up. Only thing broken was the power LED .... Lucky me

Still pissed off that vs puyo puyo sun didn't have enough development time. How much people would be mad if it was delayed to February or March? I really hope that Sega completes the port one day

I ordered one of these mini2's to surprise a freind with as a gift. I'm so excited to see your take on it. Now I'm even MORE excited to see them add this to their collection. When its so clear that the publishers and devs of the mini-console put love into the work, it compels me to 🗳 with my💰. Just got my Pocket in the mail and the same day a coworker asked me "What videogame would you play while stuck on a desert island?" I said the obvious choice [ROBLOCKS], but it had me wondering what you would say if I asked you a similar question: If you could only play a handful of games on the Analog Pocket which ones would you choose? Hope you're well lately. Thanks for the great information. ☆☆☆☆☆

Thanks! As for desert island games on the pocket… hmm… some RPG’s like Pokémon and Dragon Warriors Monsters for sure! And Tetris Plus / Mario Picross for some puzzle fun!

This was a day 1 pre order for me. As I already had one of the retro-bit wireless controllers I was set for 2 player. Are they available on Amazon again? Last time I checked I thought they were sold out? I’m really forward to playing Soleil as that’s on my backlog and this finally gives me the excuse to play it 😊

Unfortunately they are still sold out… :( soliel is great! I played it back in Uni and really enjoyed it! It’s actually quite different to Zelda!

I genuinely don't see the point of this particular mini console. Bought the 1st megadrive mini and modded it (as many of people i know) and include many of these games on the mini 2. Would have much preferred a Mastersystem mini.

Yeah I would have preferred a different console, but I appreciate the game selection here and the fact that they modelled the other version of the Megadrive, fingers crossed they do a Master System one soon!

Not worth it IMO Sega did not commit to it in getting the key games it needed to sell well. They cheeped out and made it a limited release.

I don't really think they cared if this sold well or not, it's for collectors and they wanted to include a bunch of unique games, I was happy with it!
