It's interesting too how that line also ties so well to Mega Man X due to how X and Zero in their own ways help to make Dr. Light's dream a reality, and how even if their creators were enemies and Dr. Wily had built Zero as his masterpiece to finally rule the world, Zero would become a great hero in his own way, just as Dr. Light hoped X would be a guide to humanity's future due to his not being tied to the 3 Laws of Robotics.

Plus, Dr. Light was named after Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, so that name makes just as much sense as "Dr. Right", if not more. 2. There are localized names that I despise as well, but I don't reply to every comment that uses them just to complain about it. If anything, you're going to end up doing the exact opposite of what you intended, because I could guarantee you that someone will end up using the American names purely out of spite, even if they do prefer the Japanese ones.

Critical acclaim doesn't always mean sales (just like good sales don't mean necessarely that a game had good reviews). Between the various consoles, the Legacy Collection of the classice series sold around 1 million, and that was what conviced Capcom to do the new game. But if the game itself won't sell that well, then Capcom won't do another game for quite a long time. When it comes to videogames, sales count.

Keiji Inafune debunked the Cataclysm Theory where Zero kills Mega Man now that Inafune left Capcom and made that game that is crying like an Anime fan on Prom Night Kazuhiro Tsuchiya can take that Theory and wrap up the Classic series where Zero kills Mega Man, Proto Man, Bass and Duo and Dr. Light prepares X for combat in 21XX. It used to bug me too, but tbh it really doesn’t matter. He sounds young enough and the performance is good, so him sounding just slightly too old really isn’t a problem. Besides, it’s the 11th game. I think some aging up isn’t completely inappropriate.

To be fair, robots with double gear could probably cause way more damage considering they have no judgement and are literally built to be stronger and faster than they otherwise could be. Advanced AI has far more use cases than double gear. Case in point, cyber elves. Granted, those were 200 years later, but we don’t know how AI is used in Mega Man besides how it’s applied in robotics. It wasn’t Light’s research into AI that caused all the disasters from the classic series to ZX, it was Wily messing around with evil energy, roboenza, and the maverick virus. Any of those could’ve been used on robots without advanced AI and the effects would’ve been just as bad. It’s just a matter of reprogramming.
