Mega Man 8 - Aqua Man's Stage

Time for Aqua Man's stage... this stage... oi. The music for this stage is probably my favourite from the entire game, but that is the only good thing about this stage. This stage is the annoying from start to finish. Being this game's water stage, it has all the usual Mega Man water stage shenanigans, but it also has a few new things due to Mega Man's ability to swim in this game. Combine this with the most annoying mini-boss in the whole game, and an annoying robot master, and you get yourself a head-ache. Yeeeah, I was happy to get this one out of the way.
Aqua Man is not all that difficult, really. He has one and only one threatening attack, the Water Cannon. You can dodge it wherever he fires it from, but it takes some guess-work and precision to pull off.The Water Balloon is a pathetic attack... just stand close to Aqua Man and you will be fine. I find him one of the easier buster only fights though, so I went after him first. Of course the weapon you get is the Water Balloon... It is horrible... HORRIBLE... Simply too weak to be of any use other than for taking down Sword Man easier. I would rather just use Flash Bombs on any regular enemies...

Simply because you can't escape it if you don't jump. About the music, Sega Saturn version is way better. Did you see the differences between this and PSX version? About the mini-boss, you are right, it's really annoying, but the interesting thing is tha Flash Bomb going in a diagonal line...

Don't worry about it, and I have to agree. I often didn't care about using weapons in 3, since I found most of them not too great. They pretty much fired something in a straight line. Exception being the Search Snakes and the Top Spin.

Uh.........how? I've used the Astro Crush against Gorone, the midboss in question, and by the time I use up the weapon's ammo, even with the Energy Saver item, the darn thing's still fighting as if the Astro Crush did nothing. How can the weapon kill Gorone in 6 seconds?

you can use astro crush to temporarily stun him and then use flash bombs to damage him more. i believe astro crush is the weapon most effective against this robot master.

@DriveInTake Sorry to reply to such an old comment, but IMO, the worst weapon is Spark Shock from Mega Man 3. It's range is the same as the Mega Buster, and all it does is stun enemies, it can't actually attack them. This wouldn't be so bad if you could switch weapons, but you can't. It's only upside is that the bosses it's good against are dispatched without too much trouble. But there are only like 2 who are.
