I was just thinking that you simply can't arrange certain sections of a Megaman track 1:1 on certain instruments because they just can't be played (in a classical manner) shifting gears super fast like that.

A great medley, Mega Man was a big part of my childhood. I can't give a proper opinion without going into detail for each part to give them their due respect. Mega Man 3 Intro: Seems a popular choice to start off a Mega Man medley with this piece or the MM2 intro. I do appreciate the quiet beginning followed by the slow swell leading into the second half; I'll admit the key change surprised me, but it worked for the piece. Mega Man 3 Stage Select: Only about two measures long, but definitely sets the stage for what's to come. Flash Man (MM2): The percussion does a good job driving this piece along; I don't think it would have worked too well without the drum line. I was sort of expecting the latter half of the song rather than the intro, but again, it serves as a good transition. Top Man (MM3): Now the pieces become a bit more in-depth. Due to the original's speed this seems a bit slower, but it keeps good time with the prior section...and the soft orchestra and choir give this a much different feel that sounds beautiful here. Spark Man (MM3): Another example of a quiet beginning building to a driven main theme. This one, however, manages an impressive feel by minimizing the percussion until the end of the section, giving the feeling of a big speed-up at the very end. Stage Select (MM2): Coming off the heels of the high-energy segment right before it, it's almost unsettling to hear this piece of music played in such a quiet, almost haunting tone. It serves as a good segue into the section ahead. Wily Stage 5-6 (MM3): It's *_very_* rare that I have seen anyone cover this piece, much less orchestrate it, but it sounds amazing here. Not overbearing and loud, but quiet and purposeful, fitting for the approaching final battle. I really like that people gave this song some love, it feels like an underrated piece to me. Wily Stage 1-2 (MM2): Hard to have a Mega Man medley nowadays without a piece like this; it seems to be almost ubiquitous or synonymous with "Mega Man". That having been said, seeing it orchestrated is always delightful, especially with the choir flowing heroically in the background, culminating in the optimistic final measures bringing us to the final battle. The driving bass is also a treat, keeping a purposeful feel to the whole piece. Wily Boss (MM3): Another piece I didn't expect to hear arranged for orchestra, but it works really well here. During the first iteration I had a hard time hearing the horns on melody, but that may be for a number of reasons; I do like that the piece seemed quieter the first time and jumped in intensity on the second. It brings to mind the image of Mega Man's confrontation with Doctor Wily, the latter powering up Gamma to settle things once and for all. Elec Man (MM1): After the battle theme prior, this feels more like a victory fanfare than a stage theme; the key changes help give the vibe of a finale, finishing up with a few repeats of the "Got Weapon" theme from Mega Man 3 to bring it home. Overall, this was a great medley, very well done.

Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra performing the same suite (except the timing seems better, and the quality is superb) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJW5oX2cjb2ifKs Don't get me wrong, the performance in this video is pretty great, some rough spots, I love the chorus, and I'd still have loved to be there live! Just that the video at the link is better. Andreas Hedlund worked on a collaboration with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra to arrange this suite.
