Mega main here: His leaf shield is one of his best specials mainly because of the damage it can rack up and the priority it has on the move itself. Leaf shield doesn’t NEED to be used by the top players to be considered good, but it’s more of a move where using it can help with the stuff he can already do while creating offstage pressure cause he’s able to double jump with it activated, meaning he can gimp and secure a stock much easier on people since it almost always trades.

I feel like the problem is that as a whole, Ultimate is a seriously underdeveloped game, a lot of the attention seems to be on the DLC fighters(a.k.a. Steve because fuck him am I right?) so a lot of the characters are still fresh, tho another thing may be that the game on itself doesn't let players really experiment, Ultimate is a very limiting game, so when a character like Megaman who is very honest doesn't have anything going for, it makes him being pushed aside for more "interesting" picks, like either a top tier or a low tier, it could also be a lack of interesting stuff going on in his kit, like I said I think Megaman is a very honest character, and in a roster of 89 characters being honest is not really a standout. I don't see the point in his idle because he's a robot, but i also sorta see it since in MvC he is very expressive in his moves. In conclusion, Ultimate players are whiny bitches

Im a huge Mega Man fan, and I don't get what you mean by him being forgotten. Do you mean no one online really plays him anymore? If yes, then I'd agree. My mains in Smash are Mega Man Alts 1 and 2 because alt 2 represents the Power Mega Man and Jet Mega Man from Mega Man 6! However, I wish they didn't milk Mega Man 2 so much and have three of his four special moves and down smash attack and one up air attack all be from that one game, since I think Mega Man 6 is just way better.

I think the reason why megaman is not as popular as other fighters is simply because of him being a zoner, a lot of people don't like playing agaisnt and/or as a zoner because they want to get to the opponents face and combo the heck out of them, but megaman goes agaisnt this a lot, since that's what he's meant to do, and people usually shame or boo players playing defensively like that, that's actually why the so called lemmons are pretty good, they help stuff approaches with minimal to no risk, like a weaker but faster version of falco's lasers, now with this, you might be inclined to say that characters like pac man and samus are still played and they're also zoners, and yes, that's true, but they're still played because they can still do "cool" stuff sometimes, most notably pac man can do crazy setups with hydrant and bonus fruit, while samus can use charge shot to do combos, but that needs a bit of reading the opponent to do as well, megaman just doesn't have much of this "cool" stuff, he mostly walls you out with projectiles, on top of that megaman is a relatively complex character, which just adds to people not wanting to play him that much.

@@elmaionesosexo Smash bros has more than just funny characters it also has characters that are kinda serious, Mega man being one of them. Mega Man is like a Zoning Jiggly Puff, he's very good at attacking and jumping. His up tilt is so much fun to use🤩.

Idk man Mega Man can fuck you up with grabs into aireals, his up smash is wide and fast and does decent damage, his slide can be quite unpredictable and let's not forget that he can fucking shoryuken upper cut you into the stratosphere with a single flick of the right stick

Mega Man is such a weird and interesting character but I think that’s the best part about him. He just works so differently then everyone else! I love this character.

Im not gonna lie. I wouldnt even be competing in smash at all if Mega Man wasnt in the game. Most of the players including me main him because were all fanboys of the Megaman games. And tbh in smash ultimate it really does feel like im playing a Mega Man game especially against zoner matchups!
