The Zero scenes really put this game over the top. This is where Zero's brutal fighting style with Z-saber was introduced, as well as his connection to Wily and battles with X. Please Capcom bring this series back, in either MM11 style or retro 16 bit.

I fell in love with megaman 1 in like 1989. Meganman 4 was my favorite until this one came along. I couldn't find it anywhere when it came out, and spent weeks hoarding all of the phone books I could in all of my surrounding counties in south florida calling movie rental places and found this game at a Hollywood video and convinced the store manager to sell a copy to me (no box or nothing) for my 13th birthday for $80 (probably what the came costed new, who knows if he just pocketed the cash). It took even more convincing to get my Jamaican dad to drive me an hour away out there and finish the deal as my birthday gift. I definitely got my money's worth in play time hours but gosh am I embarrassed how bad I wanted this sucker. I'd never even played the thing, its crazy the kinds of risks we took back then for just a few screen shots and some cover art.

I didn't feel the world Mega Man X was in was post-apocalyptic or dark until X2. As a kid, I didn't think it was a good thing, and I thought the soundtrack screeching at me was obnoxious and weird compare to a very safe, just-Megaman-but-much-better-in-everyway kind of feel like X1 was. Now looking back I appreciate it more. I like all 3 X's game, and X3 is definitely the worse, it was not bad.

Isn't it amazing how the entire MegaMan series they rarely rarely rarely ever require you to use a specific weapon to accomplish something. For example in Metroid or Zelda they did it all the time I can only think of maybe two instances in the entire series The trap room in MegaMan two, I think you need to use the bubble gun in MegaMan two to beat the game.

The biggest thing holding X2 back is that the weapons just kinda suck and most of them are too situational. Sure the buster makes up for it...but its so good that it kinda trivializes the game, like why bother even using weaknesses when it gives the bosses a 5 second cool down and resets their AI, when spamming double charge shots does just as much damage without breaking the pace of the fight. Also the music just isn't as strong, its good in its own right but none of the tracks hold a candle to spark mandril or kuwanger.

Sorry if this has been stated elsewhere, but X can get Ryu’s fireball in MMX1 and the Zero fight changes if you collect all three pieces of him. They’re not just collectibles. Great job with the video!

You don't have to fight Zero before Sigma if you collect all his parts after defeating the three X-Hunters. While if you wanted a quicker playthrough, fighting Zero once is faster than seeking out three different X-Hunters beforehand. Though if going for a more complete playthrough, collecting the parts does have a certain satisfying moment when Sigma tries to use a false dark armored Zero to trick X, only to have the real Zero destroy it in short order and make Sigma sound genuinely intimidated. Zero does have a great default expression too, either way he looks pissed. This sequence also hints towards a major point in the overall plot of the X-series, as Sigma tells Zero that he was destined to follow him. Sigma also later hints that Zero was "The last of The Doctor's creations", being strangely vague about Zero's hidden origins. Spoiler alert: "The Doctor" wasn't Dr. Who.

When I was trying it on an emulator, I wasn't so excited for X2 than X1, because the kinda start of cutscenes, which felt to me a bit too much, but maybe I should give this a shot😃

X1 and X2 are definitely different, so some people are disappointed by X2, but I'd def recommend you try X2.

If anyones looking for spoilers they are to young to even think about looking up mmx2 also mmx1 does have a boss rush its just not in a room full of hatches (teleporters) you still have to refight all of them

I think mega man 9 is in the same league, but realistically x2/9/x is probably the best order for mega man games and therefore, best games ever. Shout out to xenogears, final fantasy tactics, Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 (seriously the story and cut scenes are next level, better than any RPG on most systems pre-PS1 era), smb3, Zelda 1 and LTTP, Castlevania SOTN and Streets of Rage 2 and 3.

I was mainlyt brought up with Mega Man (the original), 2, 3 and 5. My best friend at the time got Mega Man X at some point. Since I never had or was that good at the SNES. Mega Man X didn't at the time have such a strong impact on me. Later on.. I have to admit the high level of Mega Man X. Perhaps the best Mega Man game ever? This video gave me some new thoughts about Mega Man X2. Definitely a strong game. Still prefer Mega Man X but you do have points that they took the series a interesting directions and that it has aspects that is better than Mega Man X. They actually did some thinking and didn't just put out the same game again (which they could have). Good video!

I grew up with X2 so I’m biased. X2 starts out a lot quicker than X1. X1 is more innovative, but X2 is more refined. Both games are great. Overall I find X2 to be a more pleasant game and flows better than X1. I like the graphics more in X2 and it feels gentler and easier. X2’s music 🎵 isn’t as good as X1s. Regardless X1 and X2 are much better games than X3. X2 is very fun just like the NES Megaman games were.

MMX2 is definitely an improvement over MMX1. I have only completed five of the Mega Man X games. My ranking of the X games are MMX4 > MMX2 > MMX1 > MMX3 > MMX5.

Kind of a long story..........I loved the Sands of Time, and I never really got into the two edgy Prince of Persia games (I didn't know anyone who owned them, and the rental store didn't have them). Even though I sucked at them, I was getting into more difficult/challenging games back them (Street Fighter 4, Ikaruga). I kind of thought of those games as the big boy cool games. I got the 2008 Prince of Persia for my birth day, and once I realized you couldn't really die I absolutely hated the game. I was just completely closed off in my mind from the game. Maybe I need to go back and try it. I brought it up as an example because it didn't seem to make the franchise more popular, not because it's really bad (it's def better than Bomberman Act Zero).

Publications maybe but when it came out I was a kid in middle school and it was cool. It wasn't common to see it in games really. When donky Kong country came out I would beat it over and over that was crazy

X2 is great! The boss battles are definitely one if main highpoints! Zero boss just too good! However I play this one the least out of the SNES X trilogy. There's just something about its pacing and I just dont like the X Hunters. They kinda mess with boss order amd upgrade collecting on repeat playthroughs.

There are 2 ways to the endings of Mega Man 👨 X 2 . I played the game in 2 ways . (1.) Normal Version: If X fight the, X-Hunters and defeated them X will receive all 3 of Zero 's parts . The 1st cut scene when Dr. Cain starts working on the reactivation of Zero but he need more time ⌚. The 2nd states that Dr. Cain had located the X-Hunters base which is at the North Pole .He told X he needs more time ⌚ to reactivate Zero .SLOW THEM DOWN 👇 MEGA MAN 👨 X ! After X eliminated the X-Hunters and their Mavericks X confronted Sigma with a Dark Replica of Zero to taught him until the real Zero show and destroyed the fake Zero telling him there's only one Zero .After X destroyed Sigma the end came up 👆 you'll see Zero (Red) dashing across the screen shooting his buster shots and blade slash. (2.) Alternate Version: If X skips the fight of the X-Hunters they 'll move around the world map until they ' re gone. Meaning not to get Zero 's parts back from them. When the music 🎶 changed Dr.Cain apologies to X that the X-Hunters attacked the Hunter Base & took the control chip . Dr.Cain told X . THEY'RE GOING TO BUILD ZERO AT THEIR BASE WE CAN'T ALLOW THEM TO TEMPER WITH HIM. After X confronted Sigma you'll Zero by Sigma 's side so X has no choice but to fight Zero until he snapped out of it .When the fight ended Zero came to his senses and apologies to what he done in the fight. X also apologies apologies to Zero for not putting him back together. After X destroyed Sigma you 'll see Zero (Black) did the same thing the red Zero did dashing across the screen shooting 2 buster shots and a blade slash.

I also enjoyed playing Mega Man 👨 X 2 too . The Mavericks are jokes but I still enjoy playing the game. By the way Zero is weak against Speed Burner when I fought in the Alternate Version .

This is gonna run opposite to most of the comments, but X2 was really mid to me. The 6/8 tracks were boring and too short (those exceptions being Magna Centipede and Blizzard Buffalo), the stages were too short and a little uninspired, and the final boss was in my opinion, way too easy. The redeeming qualities of This entry were the final boss stages and all of the fights, but a lot of the game left me hanging.

I get that. The levels are shorter, but to me it's made up for with the unique gimmicks and the epic boss fights. Sigma's final fight is weird, and maybe easy, but weird goes a long way for me, and I love the wireframe graphics.

Mega Man X2 is way better than any other X series and this is the ONLY reason why. The X-Buster Double-Shot! Enough said.... For many reasons it's one of the best X Arm Upgrades ever invented. If you cling to the wall and at the same time let go of the Charge Shot?! It Shoots the Double Shot way faster in one go and kills mavericks alot faster. Than shooting it on the ground which takes too much time to do so. Live and Learn 😅😮
