I was in LA during Anime Expo last week (visiting family) and I thought about going just for the Mega64 panel but ultimately couldn’t and was bummed out about it. Hearing that it was a bad panel and the nightmare that Anime Expo was in general kinda make me fee better about not being bale to go. I’ll wait for another east coast visit 👌

Rocco I gotta disagree about the World of Ruin in FF6. I feel like the freedom really pays off in that there is no order in how to go about the world once you get the airship, and you can do as much or as little as you want. You can do every dungeon, or just get all the characters if you don’t feel like doing everything. Heck, you don’t even need to get all the characters either. I can see how pacing-wise it “loses steam” due to being a buncha loosely connected mini stories, but I always have fun with it. That being said I think there’s been online debates about “is world of ruin actually that fun” for over 25 years at this point. So it ain’t for everyone.

Honestly hearing about anime expo seems great to not attend. Shoulder to shoulder experiences seems like hail on Earth. Definitely not showing up to any con ever, even tho I am vaccinated.
