@@0.7hujhyh Paul never sexually assaulted a child. In fact, no one in the Bible did. Yes, they were sinners, as we all are, but not child molesters. That’s what sets this apart: a pastor, sexual assault with a child, and deception to cover it up. This about as bad as it gets. Only murder would be worse. We know King David did that to try to cover his sin of adultery. This sin is worse than adultery. It was the sexual grooming and abuse of a CHILD. I hope you can find it in your mind to understand the gravity of his actions.

While we're at it.. let's talk about incest, and unconsensual sex. Where does that fall on the rank of sexual sins. And how did God punish them (Noah's daughters)?

Did God still consider David a man after His own heart after David committed adultery and murder? Or did God continue to use David restoring their relationship? Should we imitate God, or become judge n jury and executioner? Those are just my personal questions I ask myself! He should not have been allowed to be a pastor. He should have been put in prison and registered as an offender. The men who knew about this should also have been investigated and given appropriate jail time. Should we forgive? Sure. But that does not mean that we allow that person to be in any kind of pastoral or ministerial position of authority and influence. Children are precious in the eyes of God. But he was a direct reason people were Martyrd for the faith in Jesus. And Jesus chose him, restored him, and used him till he himself was Martryd. It’s horrible what happened. But we can’t throw stones. And we certainly can’t say that God has not used Robert in all these past years to help people have a relationship with Him. It’s a very difficult situation.

This reminds me of Benny Hinn who has claimed to have repented several times over his behaviour only to continue to minimise, justify and downplay what he has done and repeat the same behaviour. One of the things I find unbelievable is many people supporting Morris dismiss this woman as money grabbing and having an ulterior motive in all of this instead of asking why he has continued to try and downplay his past Yes forgiveness is possible but he must be held to account for what he did and that includes trying to make out that it was adultery rather than abuse. I pray the whole truth comes out and this court case will be successful the woman receives some closure and that Morris truly repents.

You hit on the relevant Scripture here... thank you for sharing. I love Ruslan, but this was needed in the conversation. Ruslan works hard to not see things through a wounded or victim lens, for he (and we others who have suffered) in Christ are free and victorious over those old traumas. It is obvious Jesus has healed much in him. But this verse is important...and i urge that it not be used with fleshly anger or a vengeful spirit, but perhaps a holy and righteous indignation. Jesus loves the little children. Do not prevent them from coming to Him...for such is the kingdom of Heaven.

Adherents of traditional Christianity created the culture of celebrity pastors, so the fault lies with them too. It's easy to blame the pastors themselves, but evangelicals elevate these ppl to a status of being above reproach and legitimate criticism because they're more like fanboys instead of Christians. If evangelicals stopped being fanboys of these pastors and stopped making excuses for them, they wouldn't be getting away with crimes like this.

He abused a 12 year old for 4 and half years. His wife called up the victim and said "I forgive you." Let that sink in. The wife of this pastor called up the victim, who her husband victimized when she was 12 to 16 and half years old, and told her that she forgave her. Their attorney blamed a child for being flirtatious, as to why they would not fork out the money for her counseling, but they use parishioners money, to vacation in Greece. Let that sink in. They have money for trips, lavish dinner parties, but not the amount needed for the victim to receive counseling. He stepped away from ministry for only 1 month, not 2 years, and he did not get Cindy's Father's blessing or permission, to which her father washed his hands of this Church and Robert. Cindy was a child not a "Young Lady". He digitally r*ped her, molested her, and victimized her. This is not a "Moral Failure" this is Child Molestation. This situation bothers me for the fact that I actually applied this man's teachings. I personally listened to this man.

In my humble opinion, it happens in smaller churches too, but we don't know about these smaller churches because they aren't in the limelight. My family went to a smaller church and there was adultery in it. Sin knows no perfect church size to abound. It happens when temptation is given into instead of running from it.

I heard Robert Morris speak at my church in the UK, and i also read his book. He use to openly talk about repenting for a 'Moral failure' from years ago, and said he had been forgiven by God and his wife. I assumed it was adultery on his part, and was a mutually consensual affair with an adult woman. It now comes out he was still lying and minimising his involvement, as his victim was a 12 year old child over 5 years, and his wife knew, and stood by him. He is disqualified, and should never be allowed to be alone with children again as a safeguard.

How come no one is talking about how the CHURCH LEADERS covered up a dispicable crime?! They should be held criminally responsible for the cover up, even if the statutes have passed for the original crime. Also Morris should have done time. His first ministry should have been a prison one. If he had come out of THAT situation and then founded a church with everyone knowing what he had done, it would be different. Instead? They downplay the severity of what Morris did and they IGNORE the fact that they were complicit in a crime! God help me! This makes me so angry!

We are acting like Pagans with a Christian flag it’s fake. We need to make Jesus the first and only celebrity and savior and sovereign not people. These pastors today are so prideful and full of it. We had a similar situation with the leader of a Network of churches. He was caught committing SA with a minor when he was in his 2O's and it was hidden by church leaders and network pastors until it schockingly came to the light a couple of years ago - over 30 years later. Those who exposed the crime/sin were vilified and kicked out of the network, while those who covered it up are "thriving" in large church pastorates. That leader committed a crime as well as sinning against God and man, yet the Network leaders made him a King who was a bully and spiritually abusive during his entire ministry. Did this man NEED to be restored as a pastor? Pretty sure NO. Great analogy, Ruslan.

Brother Ruslan, I agree what your points are. Not every motivating speaker can be a pastor; hence in Ephesians 4, Apostle Paul strictly mentioned about the 5 office of ministry: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers were called into. We got to find a way to stop calling all pastoral ministers as pastors because not everyone are shepherds (pastors in particular) so that there is a boundary of expectations from the flock. And yes, there is only one hero: Jesus Christ. We got to stop looking for "King Saul".

James 2:10-11 implies when committing one sin, we break the whole law, not just the one. In saying this, our major figures of the Bible have done horrible things, and God has restored them in our eyes. David with Bathsheba, Solomon with the many foreign women, and Paul persecuted Christians… you learn from their trials every time you read those books. This is not to say someone like Pastor Morris is absolved or cannot be held accountable. Just food for thought when we talk about restoration.
