One of the greatest metal songs ever written and recorded, in my humble opinion. When a song can make you headbang, get pissed, and want to cry and tell your family how much you love them all at the same time....you got something special.

I'm bored so I'm gonna be ranking stage dives 0:01 Pretty solid, bit of a fumble but still pretty good 4.5/5 2:08 Solid landing onto the crowd, a bit boring but well done 4/5 2:13 Really solid landing and bonus points for landing on his feet 4.5/5 2:15 Excellent dive, but he missed the landing terribly (hope he's ok) 2/5 2:29 The cannonball, those are a bitch to try and catch but he still did alright 2.5/5 3:00 (Guy in front of Dave) Good jump, a cannonball but the crowd were still able to catch him 4.5/5 3:00 (Front flip) Now that's a dive! Not only did he nail the flip but the crowd were able to catch him 5/5 3:00 (1st white shirt) Pretty alright dive, crowd caught him, probably landed on his feet 3.5/5 3:00 (2nd white shirt) Couldn't see the full thing but it seemed a bit awkward but alright 3/5 3:02 Not much of a dive, but a solid mini cart wheel 2/5 3:10 Again not much of a dive but it seemed meh 2/5 3:13 A low angle dive, very hard to pull off but he did good 3.5/5 3:14 Excellent jump, couldn't see the full thing but I'm sure he stuck the landing 3.5/5 3:15 Good dive, a bit of a fumble but he seemed to stuck the landing 3/5 3:19 Pretty sure its the same guy from 3:02 lol but it seemed like a decent dive but awkward landing 2.5/5 3:33 Another cannonball but he landed it 3/5 3:40 The side dive! Risky, but fun. Couldn't see the full thing but it seemed alright 2.5/5 3:43 Another side dive, tons of air, and stuck the landing! 4.5/5 3:52 (Flannel) Really awkward, fumbled and didn't stick the landing 1/5 3:52 (Baseball shirt) Good height and good jump and stuck the landing 3.5/5 3:52 (White shirt in the back) A good side dive but didn't stick the landing 3/5 3:52 (Boots) Seemed decent but couldn't see the whole thing 2.5/5 3:53 (White shirt) An alright side dive, awkward landing but still pretty alright 3/5 4:01 (Blue pants) Awkward landing and got consumed alive lol but it was alright 2.75/5 4:01 (White shirt) Average dive, idk about landing but seemed ok 2/5 4:07 Good dive/mini crowd surf, and then he got eaten alive lol 3.5/5 4:20 That was fucking awesome! Good height, good air, good flip! 5/5 4:23 A textbook dive, good landing and good dive 3/5 4:28 An ok dive seemed like they landed it tho 2.5/5 4:38 (Black shirt) Awkward fall but wasn't their fault 2.5/5 4:38 (Jean Jacket) Man must suck being in the middle of that tornado but again awkward fall but not their fault 2.5/5 4:38 (Baseball shirt) That was fucking dope! Did like a kicking jump, and it seems he landed it 5/5 4:56 (Boots) Good dive, and stuck the landing 3/5 4:57 Party foul man! 0/5

For me, this ranks as Megadeths greatest ever composition. It may not have the aggressiveness of other Megadeth songs from Rust In Peace/Peace Sells but its unrivalled imo in the way its layered and structured from its Hard Rock opening to its Thrash Metal ending after the 'I walk alone into the promised land' lyrics. Its a gem of a track in what is a really underappreciated album.

I was a huge megadeth fan, listened to their whole discography and listened solely to megadeth everyday. Then I moved to dream theatre and king crimson and got addicted to the complex structures and deep meaning of the lyrics. In that stage I got bored with every megadeth song except this one. Is also one of my favourite songs of all time to (try) play on the guitar.

Did you ever think that I needed love? Did you ever think, stop thinking You're the only one that I'm thinking of? You'll never know how hard I tried To find my space and satisfy you too Things will be better when I'm dead and gone Don't try to understand, knowing you, I'm probably wrong But, oh how I lived my life for you, Till you'd turn away Now, as I die for you, My flesh still crawls as I breathe your name All these years, thought I was wrong, Now I know it was you Raise you head, raise your face, your eyes, Tell me who you think you are? @@gabifrancis7414 That explains it. I'd bet anything that Cliff would have argued in Dave's defense, and encouraged him to try to tame his ways enough. As it is, he's done plenty of remarkable, substantial and hella cool music that wouldn't exist as it is with any other group of musicians.
@nickcarroll50343 жыл бұрын
then why is there this interview of Cliff talking about him? "I don't think about them (Megadeth) too much. Dave talks a lot about us and other people which has a tendency to make me biased towards what he's doing so I can't really listen to what he's doing with an open mind because he's too busy talking shit."

Can you imagine the music Metallica could have made if Dave didn't have an ego. Kill em all is still my favorite album, I didn't even know Dave was in Metallica until years after listening to Metallica. My first two albums I ever bought were cassettes, master of puppets and count down to extinction. It's crazy I feel in love with the music these guys were playing.

Man i just gotta say no one sounded as good as megadeth did back then. There so young here and full of so much energy. In my opinion the best metal band ever. No one can write metal songs and music like Dave mustaine pure genius. Long live MEGADETH.

lyrics - In my hour of need Ha you're not there And though I reached out for you Wouldn't lend a hand Through the darkest hour Grace did not shine on me It feels so cold, very cold No one cares for me Did you ever think I get lonely Did you ever think that I needed love Did you ever think to stop thinking You're the only one that I'm thinking of You'll never know how hard I tried To find my space and satisfy you too Things will be better when I'm dead and gone Don't try to understand, knowing you I'm probably wrong But oh how I lived my life for you Still you'd turn away Now as I die for you My flesh still crawls as I breathe your name All these years I thought I was wrong Now I know it was you Raise your head raise your face your eyes Tell me who you think you are, who ? I walk, I walk alone Into the promised land There's a better place for me But it's far, far away Everlasting life for me In a perfect world But I gotta die first Please God send me on my way Time has a way of taking time Loneliness is not only felt by fools Alone I call to ease the pain Yearning to be held by you, alone, so alone, I'm lost Consumed by the pain The pain, the pain, the pain Won't you hold me again You just laughed, ha, ha, bitch My whole life is work built on the past But the time has come when all things shall pass This good thing passed away In my darkest hour

Dave wrote this song right after he found out about Cliff dying. Dave doesn't need drugs to write his best music, he just needs more of Metallica's bass players to die.
