Megadeth is considered one of the "Big Four" in metal terms. To me, they're kind of a thinking man's Metallica. Also, never underestimate South American crowds! They were supposed to play here last year, but, well... I sure hope they reschedule! Great job!

This is from Countdown to Extinction. It was #2 on the charts behind the band Dave Mustaine left (kicked out of) before forming Megadeth, namely, Metallica and the Black Album. Mustaine lives in Arizona USA. Big on the philosophers and history. He knows what he is talking about. 1991/1992/when this came out. On the occasion of the 25th anniversy of the Album they recorded a concert where they played the entire album front to back. Trying to explain Megadeth is an entire documentary in itself. Vh1 in the states made it. 😎 "Take a journey into the molten corenof speed metal!" Was the opening blurb on the video. This song is about how leaders are corrupted by power. Make man your god and watch the heads a roll. Like the French Revolution and the introduction of the guillotine. Political prisoners, the rich, the royals and anyone else especially the priests were sent to meet their fate under its blade. A metaphor for what the politically inconvient face by those in power who'll do anything to make their vision of the world real. Dave should have died for good on a few different occassions. He's used and abused every drug out there. Died on the operating table after he OD'd on drugs. Luckilly they revived him. An amazing journey and a library of great music. Yours to see. But be warned Megadeth fans can be very very wild. He has thought that in the middle of his concerts if he told the crowd to do something very very very bad, that at that moment they might well do it. Think twice before jouning in the mosh pit. 😅

My favorite would have to be My Last Words, but I have a hard time finding a good live performance. There's a good one for Victory, even though it's a montage of album titles and his survival of drug abuse I just love listening to it. Looking Down the Cross is also one of my top picks, but again, I can't find anything good live.

symphony of destruction is their commercially most successful song,therefore "less heavy" i guess. you should try out "holy wars...the punishment due" to get a nice heavy megadeth song, its an absolute classic in the genre great video!

Listen to Liliacs cover of Master of Puppets. Its fantastic. They are a band of siblings made up of Sam on the lead guitar and back up vocals, Abigal on drums, Melody on lead vocals and occassionally bass guitar, Ethan on bass and rythym guitar and Justin on keyboards. They range it age from 14 to 23. They do a lot of covers but have their on original music out too. They are great!!! On a side note, Liliac just released their cover of "Symphony of Destruction" a few hours ago. Check it out.

@@007chinochef Sometimes I think bands only tour the states for the $$$$. Germany is a great country of contrast I hate generalizations but there are cultural things that do affect behavior. Germans work very hard but totally separate work and time off. They then play hard but at the same time have a reserve about them until you are in their close circle. Concerts etc everyone is in the group. I don't know if what I am saying makes any sense. Americans have a more open social area but have issues separating work and play this brings stress and anger into the playtime. Also, we tend to let our social lives intrude on our work. The more you get to know other people the more you see issues in your own society. I could go on forever about why we have issues but us dealing with our issues makes us unique and strong in a way that is uniquely American. Is it better than anyone else's way of living for us maybe for them probably not.

If you want heavy heavy, listen to Nevermore. Anything off of the album This Godless Endeavor. The title track is great but also the song Born. Really heavy but no growling vocals (actually quite good singing vocals). Also I love Megadeth. Captive Honour off that same album (Countdown to Extinction) is another good one. They are heavy when compared to 80s bands but not necessarily compared to modern day bands. Pantera was actually really heavy for the time.

Mega Megadeth fan here. Just a tip, don't do live versions especially if you don't know the song. By any band. Get familiar with the studio version and if you dig it, then go live. She knows the pausing etc. tricks. It doesn't fit her style. Also doing just audio and not showing the vid can help. These are decisions she has made for the quality of her reactions.
