Great reaction. I can appreciate how the many transitions affect how much you like or don't like a song. For me, the music makes up for anything negative it might otherwise make me feel.

It's good to hear an honest review. Early Megadeth has a lot more thrash mixed in it; Rust In Peace marked a more reachable sound for people, but there are some good ones in earlier albums.

Mustaine’s vocals improved with every album. “Sweating Bullets” “Symphony of Destruction” “A Tout le Monde” “Elysian Fields” The originals. Not any of the remakes.

keep up the honest reactions. this is my favorite thrash metal album of all time. i love the transitions and chaotic sound. it requires multiple listens in my opinion. some music becomes cohesive when you can anticipate. first listen is kinda you can’t see the forrest for the trees imo when this first came out i told my friends its like angry classical music.

I saw this song live on April 30, something clicked in me for headbanging As soon as it blew into the rhythm after “obey” I let loose, I believed got whiplash from it, this song got me glued to metal, for the past year or two I’ve been hooked on metal but this song has just done it for me

Chod you need to get the lyrics with the song as you do them. Because a lot of the metal that you’re hearing lately you need the lyrics for them. Just a suggestion for you. The Conjuring is a great song that I have loved for decades I get why you don’t totally dig it because you don’t understand the peace sells but who’s buying album. There’s a lot of great stuff on that album I believe it was ranked in the top 10 best heavy-metal albums of the 80s. Dave Mustain and his vocals are definitely somethingyou need to get used to but they improve with each record he makes. He does have a very unique voice that’s for sure. But what gets you the most is his musical prowess.

Great reaction. Love this song. I think on its own it doesn’t hit the same way as hearing it in album order second behind WAKE UP DEAD, then leading into the title track. It’s a GREAT ALBUM that definitely hits better collectively than individually. And I second the thoughts of a previous commenter: to summarize, the original recordings are better than the remasters. Check out Lucretia by Megadeth. You won’t regret it I promise. Cheers

@@Qthetar i tend to agree…I’m spoiled I remember liking the song long before the remasters. And I still think it’s much stronger in succession of album order (second) than on its own. But damn I love this song on its own too.

@@Qthetar eh that doesn’t concern me. Dave continues to forge his own path. He has nothing to prove and every right to do what makes him happy. He’s rightfully earned credit for his contributions. I’m not big on a lot of the newer stuff, but can’t blame ANY band for going forward with albums and tours especially, considering how lucrative they can be, and often times are a bands best method to generate income in large amounts quickly, ESPECIALLY internationally well known acts. There’s things about Dave that make me sick, but I’ll always be a fan. The first five Megadeth albums are sacrosanct to me. I’m aware of the religiousness you reference, and his preferring not to play the song, but it IS a fan favorite, and he played it on Rude Awakening in 01 or 02, so I hope he can live with himself for playing it again lol.

Hanger 18, Holy Wars, A tout le monde, Train of Consequences, Foreclosure of a dream, Breadline, Supercollider are some killer Megadeth songs from different eras of the band.

First, as mentioned by others, always listen to the originals when it comes to Megadeth. No remastered albums please. Also lyric videos. Dave's vocals can be hard to understand even if you know the lyrics. If your last Megadeth reaction was 'Holy wars...', this album came out four years before. Dave had gone through two sets of drummers and second guitarist before the album with 'Holy Wars... The Punishment Due' was released. You should listen to the the title track from this album, 'Peace Sells, Who's Buying'. More groove to the song, less change ups. Try 'Symphony of Destruction' as well. It's from 1992 and more mainstream. Don't feel you need to jump in the deep end until you get your feet wet first. Then you come back to the harder earlier albums and listen to 'Wake up Dead' and 'Good Mourning/Black Friday'.

Dave Mustaine is a beast on the guitar. He would probably still be in Metallica if it weren't for his drinking, which apparently was pretty bad. The fact that early Metallica was called Alcoholica and Dave still got kicked out for drinking too much says it all...

Yeah he chose the 2004 remastered version literally the worst year for remastered Megadeth songs. The original or Randy 2011 mix is best.

Make sure you listen to the original version of the songs. What you listened to was the 2004 remastered version. Every Megadeth fan hates the remastered versions cuz they change a lot of how it originally sounds especially this song is not the same as the original version. The vocals, different guitar tone, it’s badly remixed and has that weird reverb. The original kicks ass. So I see why you don’t like it, I don’t like this version neither. It sucks compared to the original.

I like the remastered versiones because of hownthe mixed the instruments, vocales maybe not, but only in the peace sells and rust in peace remasters. Edit: I forgot the most importante parte, the fkn bases up un the mix with that gorgeous tone is all I need, unfortunatly in te Originals doesnt sound that good, I'm a bass man.

@@DizJakeOG damn bro, what articles they used to be nominated for Grammies all the time. 13 nominations to be exact. Also that’s when the band became more rock oriented and abandoned metal in late 90s, most bands wanted to be more mainstream at that time. Musically they were never a joke tho. This song he played btw is not even the original version of the song. Megadeth fans hate the remaster versions, cuz sometimes they redo the vocals, like in this song they redid the vocals and remixed it again. The music doesn’t have the same tone. I don’t like the way this song sounds in this remastered version as well so I’m not surprised he didn’t like it.
