Νίκος Crionics considering how tough this set list is too man this is amazing. This lineup was unstoppable. Too bad shit this amazing doesn't last forever. Dave was at his best in the Marty Friedman days. Marty will always be at his best until he dies. bass Dave is still a beast. Nick Menza what an amazing drummer man. He brought so much energy to these songs live and played so hard on those drums r.i.p. I love Metallica too but you know they had to be watching this shit in amazement at how far Dave had come as a guitar player and a band leader. You know what's crazy is Dime bag Darrel tried out when Marty tried out and Dime got the job but wouldn't go because Dave wouldn't take Vinnie Paul also to play drums. fun fact for you;)

+Adriel Diaz one album?? dude, Countdown to Extinction was terrible. It was a huge commercial success, but that's it. The music in it were boring as a mofo, with half-assed riffs, mediocre production and terrible vocals. Youthanasia was pretty weak as well. The rest is pretty much the same thing. All disposable. Not even Thirteen or Endgame were decent. Chris Polland was the guy for Megadeth (too bad he sold the band's gear for heroin, that's why he was fired, but damn! Peace Sells and KIMB were excellent). Marty was too poppy. You want a poppy Megadeth eh?

I am 75. I saw Cream 1967, Yardbirds 3x, Blue Cheer, Mountain 2x, The Who 4x, Led Zep 5x, Hendrix 5x, Jeff Beck 4x all by 1969. Was at Woodstock. Have also seen Sepultura, Pantera, Naplam Death, Extreme Noise Terror, D.R.I., many punk bands such as Fear, Red Kross, Butthole Surfers 2x, DEVO 3x, as well as Meshuggah 2x. Imo, this performance is The Epitome of Metal. Any and all genres. If I were in court and asked to present one, and only one example of Metal Music to a judge, who knew nothing about metal, and they asked me: "Sir; How would you describe this so-called "metal music" ?". I would present this clip as "exhibit A". And rest ny case.

At the risk of kicking the hornets nest in the comment section, I was never a huge fan of Dave's vocal style. The reason I've always loved MD is their legendary instrumental sound, compositions, and riffs. My approach to Megadeth has usually been, "Let's get through the singing parts so we can get to the shredding parts!" Now, having said this, let my public stoning commence.
@ihateminecraft932

@@jt-ff3yx his vocals were never great, but if you see live performances in 2008, his vocals are awesome. they fit megadeth perfectly. you should watch i think it was san diego 2008 live. they played this song and ashes in your mouth which are 2 awesome songs. they got the guitar tone right and everything. they just needed a different drummer because he did like none of the beats right.

I respect the hell out of the guitarists after Marty and Chris Poland. But in Megadeth's biggest years when they really blew up it was not only Marty's amazing chops and style but his epic writing of solos that attracted so many fans. Poland had his issues and the guys who came after are great but they came late to the party so to speak. I don't believe Megadeth would have gotten as big with any other guitarist other than Marty. He was the perfect lead player at the perfect time. Unless you lived through it... It's hard to understand how unique and brilliant Marty's solos were back then. No one else was playing like that. The guys after copy alot of his style because Marty's playing became the quintessential Megadeth lead guitar sound. Marty in the 90s is untouchable in my my book. Chris Poland also was the right guitarist in the early days the same way Marty was the right guy in the 90s. Megadeth went through alot of different chapters style wise. To me they got the right lead players at the right time for those style changes. No one played like Marty back then. It was a really fresh sound. So many great lead players sounded a like in the 80s/90s. Martys lead playing was a brand new sound and not just another talented guitarist.
