Megalodon Went Extinct Because of Great White Sharks

BRIGHT SIDE

Күн бұрын

The megalodon shark roamed the oceans, scaring (and chewing) everything to pieces long after the dinosaurs were wiped out by the great meteorite. We know that it was the largest and most brutal predator that ever lived, as well as the biggest shark. It was the king of all seas, swimming freely between most parts of the ocean. But then, about 2.5 million years ago, the last of its kind disappeared from Earth forever, leaving only their huge teeth to be found by modern archeologists. So why did megalodon go extinct?
At first, scientists thought it was a mass marine extinction that happened around the time that caused the megalodon to expire. They believe a supernova exploded some 150 light-years from Earth, and its cosmic radiation reached our planet, changing its climate. But then, in 2019, a group of researchers found something weird: the fossils left over from the monster sharks dated back to an earlier period. That could mean they went extinct before the supernova. A new explanation had to be devised, and it came from an unexpected source...

No one can be sure that the meg is extint as scientists only explored 5% of the seas and the other 95% is a mystery so one can be sure that the meg is extint If the giant squid is found the meg can be found too Who agrees?

To be brutally honest I think the megalodon still exists it just swims where no one with the right gear or submersible technology has ever dove that far so it can considered blind and reclusive and it could have possibly adapted to the environment so well that we may never really know its patterns

The unexplored water is too deepfor megalodon to live, he went extinct. Also sharks as a whole have been existing for 450 milion years so i think there might be some still existing sharks from that period

Maybe there is a huge planet like ours far away in another solar system that has the things and resources to support a megalodon only policy because 90% of it is warm water and so megalodons thrive on the planet,we need to be on the look out for something like that.

@@agrilsunil1 I think that would be very cool but from the looks of it our animals on this planet look the way they do because of where we are in our solar system I think it’s a possibility that each planet has its own animals that can with stand that atmosphere not saying that it’s not possible but I just have a feeling each planet has its own life forms very different from the other

True. Plus his contention that a giant species goes extinct due to competition is extremely tenuous at best. If such competition was always such a problem, the meg wouldn't have come to be the apex predator and been so numerous. It's a terrible theory. Also the other extinction theories don't add up either as surely the same cataclysmic events would have affected all similarly sized species to roughly the same degree.

Who remember that that there is still a mystery with the meg tooth , that was found 15000 years old. Many say that the age is wrong because there could be a technical issue , but there is no proof supporting this. Megs might have choose the great white as food or the great white , after lossing the friends take their fins back and let the meg live. But after all , this are just theorys , but we dont know that when the meg went Extinct , and that not a theory. Meg might be still alive. We have just explored just 5% of the ocean's.
