There is a way to make the old PET find viruses faster. Open the back of the PET, clean the golden plate where the sensor's ball stays in, clear the metal ball as well. It worked like a charm for me years ago.

Yuri Lopes also shaking the PET with the screen face down should also help as that would make the ball roll along the contacts, instead of just shaking it like he did which would only have a chance of hitting the contacts.

I always wondered... what happens if you use an Advanced Navi Chip in the Progress PET? Does anything happen or are they only for the PET II/BN4.5?

Using the non-4.5 exclusive ones (like bass/shadow man) they'd work just like the progress pet versions, So you can use double soul using an advanced PET2 navi chip :)

you just use double soul with a the megaman navi chip, such as the one that came with the battle chip game.

Damn I thought my old Mattel protoman advanced pet was broken because it took so long to find a virus, I ended up taking it apart trying to fix it and ended up breaking it. I regret it so much now since they're so rare. I was a child at the time

It release in.the.mid 2000's, and only in Japan. As far as I can tell, less were produced than the other pet models, so it's fairly uncommon.
