I think one of the most overlooked parts of this scene was when Metroman was using his super speed, despite the major battle happening in Metroman vs Megamind, the world... Continued to go on. People were visiting the library, the resturant. Metroman, despite all his power, was mostly just a novelty to some of the population.

Yeah plus Megamind was never really that bad of a guy. Sure he kidnapped Roxanne but he never did anything so bad (in the public’s eye he did kill Metroman) but even then he’s more Saturday morning cartoon villain than Thanks or Darkseid type of a villain he’s like a kid playing villain and he’s good at heart unlike Hal

Most people think Metroman coming into music was just for comic relief, but think about this. His powers always helped him, he could do anything with them. Anything except this. For the first time on his life, he's doing something and improving on it by his own, without caring of anyone's opinion nor using anyone or anything's help.

@@marshawnfleming2873but that was him when he was young. As time went on and he kept doing the same shit for YEARS (as he already explained) he got bored and that shit drained him, and the city depended solely on him. It was like he couldn't be himself or be left alone. And as he also said, he couldn't just quit. Roxanne gave him shit for it so imagine if the ENTIRE CITY found out he just left them or tried to say he wanted out. People would go God damn crazy. He just got tired of it all. Which if you think about it, is a very realistic point. Sure when you're younger, you might show out and want to do this or that. But, when you get older and actually find out what that said thing you want to do really is, you may think about is it for you? Are you actually going to be doing this forever? Do you even see yourself doing this? All things Metroman went through and he made a choice.
@VanishEclipse4867
@VanishEclipse4867 Жыл бұрын
So putting it in simpler terms, Metroman may have pushed Megamind to full on villainy but back then he was a kid fully aware of his powers and showing them thinking he can make friends that way. Megamind after so long just went with it even though his schemes got cliche he enjoyed it, Metroman on the other hand found the whole thing of saving people thrilling at first but over time it took a toll on him mentally and that one moment of him getting captured and Megamind had issues with the death ray was when he really had that moment of think for himself and broke the endless cycle he was in.

Well, Megamind enjoyed those cliched battles with Metroman due to how society saw him only as supervillain. It was like his job and his point of living. This is why he never defeats Metro Man in past and when Metro Man faked his death, Megamind was also shocked that he finally defeats and won over his former archnemesis. But then became a very happy, only then becoming depressed due to losing his role (a supervillain that always fight with superhero).

Yeah. This is why Metro Man is one of the best characters that was inspired by Superman (due to being a more realistic version of Superman (unlike Homelander, who is more corrupt and evil) with having his own flaws (like real humans), but at the same time still retaining his humanity). In fact, Metro Man is Superman with “human-like” personality (not being cliched “good” or “bad” guy) thus making him a lot of complex guy.

@@chainsawboy2388 I love how that episode is the complete reverse scenario of this movie. Instead of purposefully faking his death, Superman has to undo the optics of Clark Kent being dead without the easy way of giving up his secret. It also means Supes can simultaneously be very amused how he's just casually walking around his own city-wide funeral and chatting with his Kent parents who know damn well he's fine, but also be touched by just how much Lois is torn up by Clark's apparent demise. Brilliant episode, really. Although a brilliant episode in the DCAU is a day that ends in y.

If you were to go that direction then the “mando verse” should be considered non canon, hell any show with ties or trying to tie it with the ST should be ignored and not considered canon. Music Man was born. That way he can keep his logo, was finally free to get in touch with his true Power skilled Talent, waving lyrical magic Music, starting with this. He has eyes with S Ray Visions that can see through lead, ( X Ray doesn't stand for anything S Ray stands for Skeletal Ray) but anyway he has eyes that can see directly past lead type metal, that's an insult to Superman, because Clark Joseph Kent, Kal El, alias Superman S Ray Vision eyes can't see past through lead, it blocks his S Ray Vision, Lead can even Block Kryptonite Weaking Radiation from killing Superman, hurting him, or draining his powers except Gold Kryptonite brought to you by Firestorm. @@kingcamelot1395Roxanne reaction, though exaggerated, are 100% justified considering Metro Man literally deceive her, quite literally his one of the closest confidant, by faking his own death. Not only lying to her, he also lied to the whole Metro City citizen. And the reason why he had to lie also just unacceptable. He could've just be honest and said he wanted to quit, no one really can't say no to him. Roxanne would definitely not reacted the way she does here and some people can understand why he wanted out and respect his decision, especially the worn out adults that can relate how burned out and what it could do to your mind and soul. He could still around the city while doing whatever the hell he wants and his presence alone is still an effective deterrent for any major crime to take place without him even doing anything. Sure he may get a backlash, but it's far better than getting caught later on and destroys what he has built all those years, and he can always help Mega Mind and Roxanne when they're in a emergency without any repercussion. To me his reasoning are just flawed and rather extremely dramatic.

I understand how Metro Man felt but faking his death is still not a good idea. If he said what he truly felt during those times, there is a chance Megamind will become good sooner and Tighten would not have been created. He doesn't owe the city anything but he still owe Megamind for how he treated him during childhood which Metro Man never thought of apologizing and here he owes Roxanne as well who is one of his closest friends and would have listened to his personal problems. I like Metro Man but choosing the easy way out will have consequences.

This is what I like about metroman he's sort of the inverse of Megamind. While Megamind was looked down upon due to being raised in a prison and wasn't really given a chance leading him to embrace those preconceived biases. Meanwhile, Metroman was praised for his powers, however with this comes expectations of him to use those powers for good. Megamind was limited via negative bias, while Metroman was limited via positive bias. Which does explain why they do consider eachother as friends despite being enemies.

I think metroman is genuis, Metro man know that if he tell the people that he will just leave and stop being a hero and stop helping the city, they will hate him and insult him they will never accept metroman decesion, they will treat him like Unfaithful traitor because he decide to leave everything behind and become what he really want, they will never give him an option, because of that he decide to fake his death, to keep a good reputation of him and keep good legacy and impression without even let people arguing about his decesion and without letting people admonishing him all the time.

Like he said he never had a choice which is odd why does he feel as though he didnt have a choice. Probably because everyone but him wanted to him to be a hero and thinking that what he should do became one.

I really sympathize with Metro Man for feeling forced into a position, but faking his death was not really the best option (especially if it meant the villain would win). He could’ve trained a successor or a team to share his duties, allowing him to find a balance between helping the city and exploring his own desires. He could’ve also sought out support and maybe even consider taking a break to rediscover himself, ensuring the city remains protected in his absence.

Let’s face the truth about the movie: Metro Man wasn’t a hero and Megamind never was a villain. They were both nothing more than actors playing their roles for the twisted fantasies of the people. At the beginning of the movie they found two different alien babies; a human looking one who they forced to become a hero and a weird, blue alien who they decided to become a villain. No sane person would see a baby landing in prison and then say “Well, guess this baby is evil. Let’s lock it up.” No, the people chose that the one who looked different had to be punished for being different. They both had to grow up the way the people forced them to and became rivals. Metro Man and Megamind played their roles as intended until one of them, Metro Man, realized that he never had a choice in life and quit. Megaminds first reaction was that he never expected to win. He knew he’d lose, go back to prison and try again next week like always. Instead he had won, celebrated his victory but then quickly got bored and decided to create a new hero to continue the charade. What would have happened if Megamind would have stopped being a villain to choose a different life, maybe even leaving the planet? Would Metro Man also have become bored, trying to create a new rival to battle or would he have continued to play the hero for tiny problems? As far as I remember, Megamind also never ended a life. Sure, he always kidnapped people with either his freeze gun or otherwise but even during the last battle with Metro Man, he chose a place far away from the city to fire his orbital canon. I guess if he would have been like typical DC or Marvel villains, Metro Man would have never retired but the fact that he did showed, that he didn’t see Megamind as a pure evil monster like the people did. Before someone comes and says “but it’s a kids movie” yeah, so are Lion King or Jungle Book and both had the bad guys ending the lives of others. Dreamworks also had movies about death caused by villains or the death of the villains like Kung Fu Panda. So the true villains of the movie are Titan, who had a choice between becoming good and evil but chose to become a villain, and the people of Metro City, who forced two innocent babies into becoming a hero/villain

It's sad when you think about the fact that Metro Man never truly have someone whom he could genuinely called as a friend. Megamind has Minion and then he has Roxanne, granted he needed to disguise himself first, but they do make an actual connection as friends. People love Metro Man for his power and as a kid, that's probably the only way he could make people like him. But as he gets older, he was pushed to become the guardian for the city. He was doing such a great job that during his existential crisis, we could see people still living their day. Why? Because they have him so they don't have to worry about Megamind or any other villains. Meanwhile Metro Man has to respond to every goddamn problem the city has because that's what everyone expects him to do.
