I wonder what the story is with Peter using an auto tune in some of these later performances. He was never pitch perfect live but his general performance wasn't about being perfect so it never really mattered.
@janhenrikbauer7 ай бұрын
interesting point, but i believe in the following: as you can hear in a raw bootleg of this wacken show, he wasnt too perfect during it. you also see him leaving the stage for minutes twice, so there MIGHT have been health problems (or tech probs, ask an insider but not me). now heres what happened after the show: they took the multitrack audio and option 1 he resang parts in the studio, option 2 they possibly took lead vocal recordings from another shows multitrack audio, woodstock festival poland was the day before wacken 2007. i AM dead sure its not the vocals he actually sang live on the wacken stage that day, i mean parts of the original were used but never 100%
@sabrinadurando44986 ай бұрын
Not autotune. It's anything done in a studio later
@amp-r6 ай бұрын
@@janhenrikbauer seems like you're right, I compared parts of Anesthesia and Pete's timing is way off at times on the audience recording so either they chopped the original vocal tracks to fit better or used a completely different take but it's 100% not the same audio even before all the pitch correction. I highly doubt he overdubbed them in studio, as he wouldn't have needed autotune with unlimited studio takes. What really baffles me is they released it like this BEFORE Pete died, it would make sense if they used what they got after he was gone but while he was still alive? I can only imagine it was time crunch / label pressure / band not caring about the end product, Josh was ready to quit the band, Pete's health was getting worse and I remember reading in an interview with Kenny and Johnny that recording Dead Again was the worst time they had as a band.
@janhenrikbauer6 ай бұрын
@@amp-r no one but Josh or someone as involved can tell you what really and exactly happened on postproduction. But what they did wasn't badly done. I am shocked to hear Josh was opting to quit and never heard of that til today? I don't think recording dead again was a horror, I think it was a relatively relaxed recording process.
@timtapp59315 ай бұрын
@@janhenrikbauer Josh was doing EMT training but nothing about wanting to quit the band for serious, as he wanted to the band to wait a bit until after the training to tour again (one doesn't request that if they are over the band). In interviews about the dead again recording, the major headache seemed to be that it took so long to record because of a variety of issues.
