For the "My 100" page, you can write 2 special interests that you had each week. You will have filled it out by the end of the year.

@@bonumonu5534Think they meant engaging in two already formed special interests. So maybe week 1 journaling and chess, week 2 chess and reading and week 3 reading and journaling (just as an example). Not two new interests per week.

Really like the approach you've taken with the Cousin. I have a frantic brain moment every few days about the fact I have information spread across 3 books and I have to talk myself out of this weird spiral. The everything all in one place vibe is so sensible and looks great in your book. At the moment my favourites page is blank but the My 100 is a list of new media. I am someone who loves to re-watch/re-listen/re-read to the same stuff over and over, so I like to collate when I've consumed something new to be like "you can do this and enjoy it" and it reminds me of what I liked to then maybe re-watch/re-listen/re-read later down the line. I use dot stickers to colour code to suit the type of media.

I love how you use your my 100 page because I had no ideas for it but I also have come to terms w the fact that I constantly rewatch SpongeBob because I find it to be a comfort show. But I have gotten into K-Dramas on Netflix and I think it would be noteworthy to include any new material I come across this year. Thanks for sharing!

I have the exact same panic (and way too many journal entries where I try to find a "perfect" solution. For now I've settled on a traveler's notebook so everything is separate together and I can potentially remix my books/thoughts down the road. (Plus it sort of justifies the absurd amount of money I spent on traveler's notebooks. :) )

Your brain dumps are such a good idea! With adhd it actually gets so hard to organize my thoughts and wants and it would be so useful to just get things out onto my journal. I also would like to track the media im consuming more like you do cause I think it will force me to differentiate my days with the brain fog
@trxshm0uthz

i use my 100 for media i want to consume, and i use those circle dots to visually be able to see if it’s a show, movie, game, or book. that way when i’m craving something to watch/read/play i can quickly decide on something (especially if it’s a movie - i no longer have the netflix hour long doom scroll). and it holds me accountable for when a loved one recommends something to me, i don’t forget to get around to it~

This is risky and excessive, but you could use a hole punch on your dot stickers to make smaller dots. The con is trying to get the backing off of it when it’s tiny 😅

As far as the dots go in the index page I would recommend doing the pen route with zig pens and matching the colours as best you can. The grid size in the hobonichi cousin has a 4mm grid so it might be wonky to have larger dots than that! Hope you find a solution that works for you x
@godzandheros
@godzandheros Жыл бұрын
I use the zig ones in my weeks and I love it, it's so much more economical and if you use a colour more than others you can just use up that particular pen and replace it instead of having to buy a sticker sheet with other colours that go to waste.

Hi Megan! I've only just started watching you after you came up in my recommended but I really wanted to say thank you. I really enjoy watching aesthetic content revolving around stationery, coziness, journaling, a day in my life, things like that. But one thing I very rarely hear when I do watch content like this is someone speaking about their mental disorder/mental illness and how it affects them. I know that it may not be related to their content and I know it may sound silly to be upset about, but watching people on the internet who seemingly "have their lives together" and "have nothing wrong with them" makes me feel sad and inadequate. I really appreciate your honesty, your ability to open up into the world, and your fearlessness to be who you are and make life easier for yourself. I can't imagine just how difficult it is to turn on the camera and be so vulnerable. I really appreciate good people like you! I'm so glad you like your hobonichi and you've definitely inspired me to take a peek at their materials. I know this may be tmi but I recently got diagnosed with auADHD and having someone to look up to/ look forward to when days get rough is really great! You inspire me in so many ways!!! Thank you!!! :)

I use a traveler’s notebook so i don’t have the 100 page (sigh), but i would probably use it as an inspiration list, like a list of painting/drawings i’m working/want to work on - i elaborate on that in my commonplace a lot but i guess it would be nice to have it all in one place and be reminded of it again and again because they sometimes get a bit lost in the middle of everything else!

Conveniently my 100 list this year is the very unoriginal use is books I've read. It's my goal this year to read 100 and I think I'm on track *knocks on wood*. But the thing is I'm putting an honest star review in the corner. I try to rate the books I read well on Goodreads unless it's trash and I wouldn't be posting it on Goodreads to begin with. Esp. books that sometimes get troll reviews of people saying it's bad when they don't like the content (feminist, intersection, etc etc). I'm also reading some ~spicier~ books this year, romance mostly, and my pride is keeping me from rating them on a platform where I'm friends with old coworkers. As for the favorites, I plan on that being one of the last things I do in the book before switching at year's end as a little time capsule. I'm honestly tempted to give the second half of the A5 AVEC Cousins a try to see if I like it. The point you made about having room to put bits from everyday in there as opposed to the Field Notes really resonated with my wonky little brain. All this to say, hope you and Wednesday are well, take care of sand brain, I'm looking forward to playing with my legacy challenge when I get home after work. 🖤

Have you looked at the Common Planner from Sterling Ink? They would have even more space for you in their a5 size because they don't have the Japanese text at the bottom or the dates on the daily pages. Right now they're only selling undated ones, but it might be something to look out for in preparation for 2024! I just ordered an undated one and I'm very excited to try it out. ❤

I just found your channel two days ago because I was trying to get some inspiration for my vertical planner by Hemlock & Oak (similar to the Cousin) and my brain is so happy with your aesthetic / clean and neat pages. I aspire to that for sure. BUT, what made the biggest mind blowing impression on me was the key for the daily pages / journal-y bits in the back! I've really been struggling with getting back into journaling and I think this is really going to be a game changer to the way I journal going forward. Thanks so much!

I'm so glad to see the A5 working so well for you! I wanted to start journaling this year, so as I was looking at my options, I landed on the Hobonichis because of your videos - so thank you so much for that! I knew I wanted to paste pictures, so I went straight for the A5. What I ended with (and am very happy so far) was: - An A5 Day-Free as a journal (I didn't want the restriction/pressure of having a page reserved for each day, so I went with the Day-Free): In the pages with several months, I tend record projects that take several days, so when I look at it I can tell at a glance how I spent that month. In the full-month calendar, I record my hobbies: when I finished a book, a game, a movie, etc. In the 100 page, I write down the books I read. - Paired with the Day-free (in a Hobonichi cover - Shinsuke Yoshitake's "Today's Adventure"), I have an A5 plain notebook, which is my commonplace book. I wanted them as separate books because my commonplace will be filled through the years, while the Journal is started every year. Besides the books I also bought a color laser printer to print things for my journal (and an embarrassing amount of stationery) - It was quite an investment prepping for this year, but I am very happy that I am finally keeping up with a journal (which I had been postponing for years). Thank you so much for your inspiration, Megan! - Besides that, I have a small Techo Weeks for work, where I keep track of meetings, appointments, tasks, etc.

Okay, now I feel like I'm typing this slower than my ADHD brain is going, but let's see if I can get it all in: 1. The Stalogy stickers: I could make a short video showing you how they fit in my Hobonichi cousin on those initial index pages because they go slightly outside of the lines and I'm not sure if that would bother you. They sell them in the blue/purple/magenta colors here in the US, but not in the other combo with the black and grey. 2. The top 100: You could use that page to track all the books you're reading, or the cassettes you have bought, or if you're planning on making copious amounts of Gloomies, you could have a list of your Gloomies. 3. The favorites page: The page has twelve slots so you can use each one for a month. Maybe track your special interests for each month? Like what you got into that month, or your favorite thing or event from the month. Something that allows you to look back on the year and see the best things that happened or that you got into. You could rate your month too with those little stars.

i'm back to comment more because i had to take a break before finishing the video. just wanted to say i really appreciate how much i can relate to your content (in video form and art) because it's really refreshing/kind of emotional for me to see content by someone like me for once and who experiences life similar to how i do etc T_T

This makes me want to go back to a Cousin!! In a Weeks Mega currently and a ton of other books bc it's small and I'm overwhelmed💀 Not using the My 100 currently and never used the favourites, but last year I put all the books I read in the My 100! Felt a little sad bc I didn't get to fill the list up all the way though

I always forget to use the pages in the back. In a past book I used the My 100 for pen testing tbh. :)

I'm AuDHD and I also use my bujo more for memory and mindfulness. I have to have a prompt to remember. Even when I go on nice vacations I barely remember them until I look at my journal/snapchat memories. Also for someone with hightened pattern recognition if I cant remember my days how am I supposed to see the patterns in my daily life 😭 So bullet journaling has really been life changing!

Megan, this video, and your system here, is utterly enlightening to me. Thank you! Using the dailies as a "commonplace" (your modified definition) is brilliant....... P.S Are you still using the Cousin this way? I haven't seen it in your videos lately.

I used to get dizzy wearing my glasses too. I ended up never wearing them because the edges go a bit wibbly (?) 😵‍💫 I got a newer pair with much larger lenses which helped a lot. I can now wear the smaller glasses and they don’t make me so dizzy as well

I use My 100 for books, albums, essays etc. that I loved this year and I use my favorites for meals I hyperfixate on (so when I don't want Anything I have options I've liked in the past)

I use "my 100" for the books I'm reading. I'm not reading fast/much, so I most likely will not have 100 at the end of the year. My favourites I use for TV/movies/music that really stuck with me, for example "The Bear" from FX/Hulu airing last year really got to me, I put it on my favourites list of 2022. An example for 2023 would be the cover of "Just a Girl" by Florence + The Machine.

If you still can't find the 5mm dots... consider the dot markers. I bought a non-branded set off UK Amazon for my Hobonichi and use them on my weekly pages for colour coding activities. As long as I am not heavy handed and apply too much pressure, they fit the squares perfectly and they last longer than a sheet of stickers 🤷🏻‍♀

I hate when my images peel back up. A glue I really recommend that never fails me is the elmer's disappearing purple school glue. My stuff never peels back up. One down side is that if you use too thick a layer it can make the pages quite stiff especially with the thin tomoe river paper, but you don't need that thick a layer anyways, a little goes a long way. I also like using glue tape 'cause it's a bit more flexible. I like the Tombow brand because you can buy refills and it's pretty inexpensive.

I also use the 'my 100' pages to do a yearly reflection in december. Usually on christmas or new years my family and I will write out our own lists of 100 things we remember from the year, the goal is to just jot down as many memories as quickly as possible and then we go around and share the high lights afterwards. It's one of my favorite family traditions. I know you talk sometimes about having trouble with your memory so this might not be the ideal use for you, but I just wanted to share how I use them. I have also see other people create a kind of inventory, like 100 of their favorite things (books, clothing items, snacks, trinkets, tchotchkes etc.).

Hi Megan - just wanted to say congrats on the shop update after all the challenges it threw at you 🙌 I also wanted to ask how you feel about using Squarespace for your shop? I'm about to launch my own small business store and I'm trying to decide. I'm hoping to hear you love it! 😇 Otherwise I think the other option for me is Shopify. Would love to hear about your Squarespace experience xx

Hi, I have a question for you but first I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos and you sharing you planner system. It is most helpful 🩷 My question is: have you been using PILOT FriXion for long? Have you noticed the ink fading or does it keep well over time. I'm mostly asking because I know the FriXion pens are sensitive to heat. Thank you!

The Journal Shop has the 5mm sticker dots doesn't it? It has both 8 and 5?? Though admittedly the 5mm has quite a bit out of stock at the moment. My colours are out of stock - I use Pale and Tree

I love these updates! I also use my hobonichi (a6) as a sort of commonplace journal, so it’s fun to see how you use yours. ❤ For my “my 100” page, I’m using 1-50 for books I’ve read & 51-100 for media I’ve enjoyed (movies, shows, games, etc)
