@@olivierbruwiere It felt like the film was speeded up through the rocks and snow section. The skill level of Hugo (and yourself) was exceptional. I was surprised at Damien's strategy in the middle section. Last year he waited, waited, waited - then attacked at top of the hill - and it worked very well. This year he went to the front - and was himself attacked. I congratulate all of you warriors for your skills - and apparent cameraderie in victory and defeat.

Well Olivier, first and foremost, a huge congratulations! This was a very, very tough Megavalanche, this year. Ever since i got back to Mountain Biking and discovered this gourgeous world, you and Kilian have been my absolute heroes. To finish on the podium, again, after that "mud surfing" contest that was the technical session in the forest is nothing short of extraordinary. And secondly...the same finishing order than last year?!?!? Uau! The same first 5! And again, you were able to "swindle" Kilian and Stephan! Good for you! But...isn't there anyone capable of "stoping" those two frenchmen from winning this thing?...I've got to tell you, on the climb, Oton already with you, and I saw Hugo lift is butt from the saddle and "shoot out" into the oblivion I thought it could only be a joke...He is...impressive. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself while mud sliding and it is very safe to say that it is obvious that you are still very much on top of your game. May I ask, did you guys start slightly more "downstream" this year? You usually pedal the first kilometers on snow and ice. This year there was none...If you're competing in La Reunion I guess "I'll see you there". I'll be cheering you, as always, all the way from Coimbra, Portugal. Good ridings and relaxe a bit now. You've more than earned that!
@olivierbruwiere6 ай бұрын
Thx! I was sick the days before the race. So maybe not 100% fit on the pedaling. But even if I was 100%, Hugo was still insane on the climb. So no excuses for me. I don’t know yet for Reunion. We have to see with my job and my boss. It’s not easy to get the days off from work.

Don't take this the wrong way but...I would never suspect anyone else in the world would take the time to read the correspondance between me and Olivier...We've been speaking through his channel here on youtube for more than a year and he is undoubtedly one of my greatest heroes and have been incredibly decent towards me. The last time we spoke we ended up speaking about our jobs!! And how difficult it is to take time off work to "engorge" ourselfs in mountain biking! And well, If your reading this and are a fan of Olivier and follow his carrier, as I do, you also must have been completely mind boggled by this Megavalanche and what Hugo was able to do on that damn climb. It was almost ridiculous the way that frenchman lifted himself and peddaled like a jet engine...And apparentely Mounsieur Pigeon is riding a Scott with Sr Suntour suspensions on it. Uau...I wouldn't be caught dead riding anything other than Rockshox, Fox, DVO or Ohlins. Greatings from Coimbra, Portugal and thank you for commenting, my friend!

Haha, I think a lot lf people are reading this. Hugo was in good shape. Or we were not in our best form. But I think I did lots of preparation. So only my sickness before the race would maybe hold me down a little. I’m riding EXT Suspension. That Era fork does a great job, and the Arma Shock is insanely good. Never had this perfect setup before.

@@olivierbruwiere Thank you. They finally released the results yesterday, I believe. I kept looking for them to be posted and saw them yesterday. Kilian released his ride video yesterday, so I posted the top ten on his video.

This whole thing is very strange. He (Hugo Pigeon) is removed, not only from the results, but also from the start list of the event. He is gone, also from the quali list, yet no one is saying a word anywhere. Can´t be good when a competitor is completely removed from the event, not just declassified or disqualified for a regulation breach. I hate to speculate here, but since not even the organizer is saying a word.... I can understand the other competitors not saying anything as they all know each other well at top level I guess. I have never seen this happen at a event as big as this, everyone is silent as clams when the winner is removed.

Uau Olivier...I would give my left "pinkie" to sit down with you and our friend quintessus and "talk shop" for an entire afternoon! And don't take my comment about suspensions the wrong way. I know that Sr Suntour are aiming to earn a spot under the sun in a lot of categories. For example, they are now a major player in the XCO world championship. And if you know anything about what they do there you also know those boys and girls are some of the toughest "S.O.B's" on the face of this earth. And you can start with Nino Shurter and end up with any of the Canyon girls, they would ALL ride donuts around me while I would be struggling to push myself up those hills, let alone try to match the men elite rhythm. So, if some of those gents are working with Sr Suntour, then they're a good enough manufacturer. I wrote that I wouldn't be caught dead with anything else than those 4 brands because of one simple reason: I don't know enough myself! And don't know enough people to help me buy the correct stifness Ohlins shock, let alone set up their forks. So, in my 10,5kg hardtail I have a 120mm Rockshox Sid 120mm fork in the front( thing works like a swiss clock, has never let me down), in both my Specialized Stumpjumper Evo and propain Tyee I have a Fox Float X2 Factory shock 210-55mm(150mm of travel in the stumpy, 160mm on the Propain, the're light relyable and simple enough) and on both of them I have Rockshox Lyrick forks(160mm in the Stumpy, 180mm in the Propain). They're lighter than the Zeb and Fox 36 and 38 and incredibly supple. Because of course, I'm an amateur. And by the way Olivier your combination of fork and coil is upwards of 2800€..Double of that of my combination. And I know that ERA is very, very good. But do you want to know the only place I've ever seen an ERA suspension setup beyng built? Gee Milner's youtube channel, Dream Build. That englishman builds the most amazing and beautifull bikes in the world. And there you have it. If Iwas a professional, like you, I would know enough to venture myself in more elaborate suspension builds but...I can't really go to my Clinical Director and ask for help with setting up my awesome top of the line suspension setup. The first thing he would say to me would be: Luís, You have two enduro bikes?...And you earn your money working with your hands, inside patients, EVERY day?...That's very smart lad...LOLOL! And I bid adieu from Coimbra, Portugal. Hope you folks are sleeping like rocks!

You are really good at this but I continually am yelling at the screen "You are trying to win a race. Stop messing with the camera lens. It's not important"

Great race, unlucky that Damien ruined your change of winning by getting on front and getting too tired and he let Hugo rest before his attack. Even after Hugo made his attack Damien still wanted just block you. Unsportmanslike behaviour from Damien Oton.

Did #-1203 in pink find a shortcut when he turned off (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bavCo4FqpZeJo5I), only to be passed with ease (at kzbin.info/www/bejne/bavCo4FqpZeJo5I)? In kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYmWh6muZcx4g6M the three leaders pass him when they'd seemed ahead of everyone else from the start (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYmWh6muZcx4g6M)
