I'm surprised nobody brought up the MCS charging standard. The MCS standard which is mostly finalized, defines a connector rated at 1250V and 3000A, or 3.75MW. Everyone will be adopting this standard, including Tesla. Similarly, CCS1 is dead. The NACS connector already handles significantly more current than CCS (over 600A), and the 1000V version has been tested at 1000A continuously. The V4 supercharger should be able to easily exceed anything CCS1 is capable of. It's only a matter of time until other EV manufacturers adopt NACS since it's quite clear none of the CCS networks can get their act together and there are serious reliability issues. I know there are numerous other charger manufacturers that are working on multi-megawatt chargers. Tesla has even installed a few for their semis, though AFAIK not with the new MCS v3.2 connector yet. It looks like the MCS 3.2 connector has been finalized. The current debate is over which communications protocol to use.

Another nice video Munro Live team. Nxu has the right attitude, make it happen now, do not wait. During the early days of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Ford, GM, and others seem to just roll over and accept supplies are just not available. Meanwhile, Tesla was figuring out how to use other chips to use and keeps things going. It seems companies that grow are the ones who do whatever it takes to make things happen, including making things they have never made before when needed. These rapid charge speeds just adds more weight to the idea that battery swap stations are a waste of resources. This also means heavy duty EVs, such as the Tesla Semi will make more sense as well.

The grid storage box was less than polished as it was welded steel structural girders with trex decking mounted at a 45-degree angle. Then they are handing Munro a CCS plug like it was special and they should be praising them. Munro visits everyone and the fact they weren't impressed with anything except backyard ingenuity with stuff like the Home Depot bucket couldn't be more telling. Your 100% right on the money with them being a scam it is criminal how they target unsavvy investors through social media. then change names and directives and branding completely after roughly 4-years when they didn't even have a prototype. Key point: as Mark said, the infrastructure is at least 2 years away from being able to deliver the present needs for EV charging, let alone future needs as the EV fleet expands. With the Federal incentives to buy EVs it is logical that the government has not ensured the infrastructure needed to "fuel" the fleet is in place BEFORE the demand outstrips the supply - but then again, it is the government, and they only exist to solve problems, particularly those of their own making...

Not just NACS, they're also missing the MCS bandwagon. MCS looks like they learned from the CCS1 abomination and looks like a sane connector rated at 3.75MW. Not only that, it's a standard that will be adopted by everyone, including Tesla.

Would you expect, going forward, that coolant-water-cycle might become an interesting value-addition to the "hyperfast-charging" plug? I can imagine that, at 1MW, even with 98% efficiency, there shall be 20kW heating in the pack. If misuse and damage-claims weren't an issue, this would make sense in a heartbeat.

I have to question their in-house megawatt charging connector. Have they looked at MCS? I believe the MCS connector is smaller than their connector and it is rated for 3.75MW, 3000A, and 1250V. While it is still not finalized, it is quite far along in the process which will be finalized next year. The MCS connector is being designed by a consortium of companies, including Tesla, and from what I can see it looks like they have learned from the past mistakes of the CCS1 abomination. Their continued push for CCS1 is also a mistake. It's fairly clear that CCS1 is going to die and be replaced by NACS. The NACS connector is also capable of handling far more power. They keep talking about 200A. Tesla is already pumping over 600A through their NACS connector and there is a version rated at 1000V and they have claimed that they have tested the connector for 1000A continuously. They claim they're the only ones fully vertically integrated when Tesla has been demonstrating their integration for years. They build their own chargers and everything related to them and have by far the cheapest installation cost. It's already known that Tesla's chargers are far, far cheaper than the competition at under $50K/stall for 250KW. I don't think it will cost significantly more for them to up the output to 500KW by moving to their 1000V connector nor do I think doubling the power output of their charger will cost twice as much, and even if it does, it's still far cheaper than $500,000. I also really need to question their claim of constant high-C charging even at high states of charge. Sure, you can do that if you don't care about frying the battery. There's more than just temperature involved in needing to reduce the charge rate in order to prevent the graphite from getting clogged up with lithium or the electrolyte breaking down. They have my BSometer pegged.

Hook this Lab Experiment to an 800V Porsche Taycan and see how fast it charges. Spoiler alert: not so fast. One of the first recalls was to drastically reduce the initially clamed charging of the Taycan to keep the life of the batteries somewhat reasonable. There is an inverse relationship of the rate of charge and number of charges / useful life of the battery. That's why, as he accidently acknowledged, the vehicles have the "Charger" control so the vehicle manufacturers can control the rate of charge to achieve reasonable life of the battery.

And its exactly why I doubt their claims of being able to charge at 3MW at any point in the state of charge with their (not finalized chemisty??) batteries. He seems to be saying that cooling is the only trick... and sure, maybe that prevents the battery from blowing up while charging it... but absolutely no mention or even aknowledgement of the life-span of their cells with repeated 3MW charges. Im very skeptical.

Curious just how innovative Cory and Sandy think their process or current level of progress is. Not to sound harsh, but it seems like a very low-tech operation and I am left curious if that is just the point in their existence that they are at.
