Great tips Brian. Spreading the compound on the panel with applicator pad is a great idea. Not only does it reduce product sling it also doesn't gunk up the pad fibers as much as applying directly to the pad. Cheers!

what speed should the rotary be when using 105 and 205 i got speed 1 to 6 on my machine
@RishadKunjup3 жыл бұрын
600 to maximum 2000 rpm gives you good results... Low RPM is always better when you use rotary... It will reduce heat build up
@STILLNIGHTPEARL2 жыл бұрын
For compounding I never go past 1800 rpm, 1600-1800 rpm is fine, i prefer a wool pad for compounding since it runs cooler at higher rpms than foam, polishing 1000-1200 rpm is fine with foam, finishing 600-1000 rpm is fine with foam.

Your channel is very helpful; my goal is to start my own detailing business and your tutorials help me nail down a lot of concepts. How was the transition to shop oriented detailing? I'm starting mobile because there's very little overhead, but the idea of being able to work indoors is almost intoxicating, haha. Do you think it's a natural step to make? I know I certainly don't have enough customers to afford keeping a shop open at the moment.
@apexdetail857 жыл бұрын
First of all I wish the best in your quest to get your own business going. If you have questions about it, don't hesitate to reach out. My email is out there for everyone. Miragebjs@yahoo.com. As for mobile vs a fixed detailing shop. I started mobile. Like you said, little overhead. But as you get older.. its nice to be out of the heat and sun and work in perfectly clean environments. But the overhead is tremendous. And you better be damn sure to have steady work year round. Hence... my multiple fleet contracts, dealer work, be active in your community, so local customers stay loyal. And train yourself in more than just basic detailing as to offer more and more services. Seems like Ism still training daily to keep up with the ever evolving industry. Hope that helps! 👍🏻

@@videomaniac108 I would go with M210 on soft black clear coat, that’s literally what it was designed for. Some guys were complaining about M205 not finishing as good in that particular case, that’s why they came out with 210, on harder clear 205 is fine.

Hi Brain, My suzuki swift's paint condition is good enough, though 8 years old. I have purchased a M105 & M205 yet to use it. Though a regular detailing was done for the paint all these 8 years, but think that the paint have lost atleast some of the pop in these 8 years. I am in a bit of doubt of using M105 as I hear it is quite abrasive in nature. Please guide. I will use my rotary as you do.

Will meguiar's M34 final inspection (where last touch D155 but contains silicones unlike M34) possibly be used as the QED? To prime a foam pad where to spray directly on the compound on the clear coat? (I know that M34 is rather expensive, but I like to use it! Especially for an inspection because without silicones)

Its a solid brand and I use them frequently on my regulars. I would consider them in the top half for sure. Its just that 105 dries too quickly and produces more residue than... say... angelwax or QP ON compounds.
