Great video 👍 I especially like your new name for the Self-Leveling Technology - if we change the name for the future batches, do we have to pay you a royalty?! 😆. Joking aside, it was cool to see your take on this. I thought I would add a little clarity based on a few comments below as I think folks may be a little confused about a point or two. For one, it is not required to do one step of correction, we simply point out for “best results” we recommend a decontamination and at least one step of correction - this holds true any time you want strong hydrophobia with virtually any product. Two, there is no issue with haze or things “coming back” a day or two later. There was a note saying that if you see them immediately after applying, do not be alarmed as they may self-level (or disappear haha) after 5-15 minutes. If they don’t, simply make sure you have a fresh microfiber and re-wipe the area. That’s all. No worries about things fading back or anything like that. Hope that helps clear some things up 😎😁👍 -Markus, Meguiar’s Professional Product Manager

Two observations: 1) It doesn't seem to produce a lot of shine or gloss. 2) It can still be seen after wiping off. And then I question, what is the durability (how long does it last compared to a product like Bead Maker?). And can you apply a product like Bead Maker after applying this product? Or would that remove it, or cause hazing/ smearing/ blotchiness (of a wax layer and or layer of this product)? Because the ultimate goal obviously, is to get a massive "durable" shine/ gloss AND paint protection/ beading. I like to try to combine products either on a panel surface or actually do chemistry experiments mixing different products.

I noticed on Meguires website it says it last for weeks even months. So that basically means it lasts for 1 to 3 months. I wouldn't go through the effort just to get 1-3 months protection or even if it did 6 months when both Turtle Wax and TLC2 give 6 months at a minimum and TW with 2 coats lasts up to 12 months. Also the glossyness of both those products are about as good as it gets if not as good as it gets. They are also extremely easy to apply. TW is less expensive whereas TLC2 is almost double the price. Meguires needs to go back to the drawing board. We know they can do it if they really want to.
@MarkusKleis4 жыл бұрын
Kyle Marx I cant find where it says weeks to months on the site - can you link it? I’m thinking it’s a mistake. This is good for several months - typically 3-6 months. As for your suggested comparisons, M27 and those products are QUITE different. One is aimed at extreme hydrophones, self cleaning and fantastic benefits for multiple surfaces - one is so-so on the hydrophobics and chemical resistance. Very different products.

I ordered mine. I'm going to be using it for all of my paint enhancements. I used it on a vehicle this morning. I was SHOCKED at how easy it was to get off LMFAO. @obliviondio4 жыл бұрын
The majority of people with daily drivers care more about protecting the surface of their paint for the longest duration possible without having to reapply in such a short timespan while not having to spend a ton of money for the 'better' forms of protection such as ceramic coatings and PPF. This is why Seal N Shine destroys the competition in its class as a 'sealant' since it offers just that at a very low cost compared to the competition. The only negative is that it 'slightly' dulls the shine of your finish. In reality, nobody cares about that slight bit of negative dullness of shine UNLESS it's a showcar inwhich case is expected since you want the car to look its best. These cars aren't daily drivers nor are they intended to be driven at all. Sheeting of water is better than beading. Hard contaminates within the makeup of the water and other airborne contaminates that get captured within the bead (encapsulation) sit there untill the water evaporates. Once the bead of water has evaporated then the leftover contaminates that are present on the panel cure into the paint requiring you to correct the paint sooner than a surface that was protected with a sheeting formula. Everytime you correct the paint, you are shedding off a small layer of clear coat which protects the base coat. Eventually you will have to repaint the car when it gets really low. Let's also mention how delicate this factor is with the many Toyotas that have a very fine layer of base and clear from the factory which are extremely delicate.
@obliviondio4 жыл бұрын
@muskanofx Lots of misguided information here. Let's see where to start. Rain water is actually slightly acidic under normal, natural conditions, even without air pollution. This acidity is due to the presence of CO2 in the air, which reacts with water to form carbonic acid, and nitrogen oxide which forms in electrical storms, which reacts to form nitric acid, and sulfur dioxide, from volcanoes, which reacts to form sulfuric acid. But what we commonly think of as acid rain is the result of air pollution. This pollution comes mostly from burning fossil fuels such as oil in engines and coal in industrial boilers. Lots of nitrogen oxide is formed in engines, and some sulfur dioxide as well, and coal often contains a lot of sulfur. These excess amounts of nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide are the primary reasons for acid rain in the sense of polluted rain water. These react with moisture in the air , forming acids, and thereby causing the rain to be far more acidic than is normal or natural. The pH balance of acid rain is 4.0-4.4 similar to tomato juice. This proves that the durability of a sealants resistance towards an APC IS a major factor to consider since acid rain WILL slowly break down the sealants lifespan. There's also the factor of road chemicals that also break down the sealant. Yes an APC is more amplified compared to realworld conditions but at least it gives us an idea as to which sealant will last longer solely based on an acid resistance test apart from other factors that break down a sealants lifespan. If your vehicle is exposed to rainwater then the best solution you can have is a ceramic coating or ppf. Sealants are a lower cost solution and will require more maintainence. The sealants that bead water WILL continue to settle on the surface long after the rain has subsided thus causing more damage to the sealant than a sealant that uses a sheeting formula. This proves that formulas that use Beading formulas don't last as long as Beading formulas. For the record sheeting formulas are hydrophilic.
@obliviondio4 жыл бұрын
@muskanofx Regardless if the APC is alkaline or acidic based, the fact is that it's not pH neutral nor is acid rain. Fact is that any substance that is not pH beyond 7 will strip off the protective paint sealant. Using an APC is one of the better controlled methods of testing the resilience of a product over another since these are commonly sold products to use. Technically we could use other substances like vinegar but I suppose it's just a common 'standard' for everyone to use an APC. I don't know how you can say acid rain isn't prevalent when the majority of every modern society with petroleum based vehicles and power plants are the prime cause of acidic rain. Just look at the damage acid rain has on the environment and tell me how it's not prevalent. You'd litterally have to live away from modern civilization in a tropical forest, a remote desert, an island etc etc etc just to not be affected by acid rain. At that point I'm sure you aren't concerned about paint sealants for your car since you'd probably not care. Yes it's true that the water attraction from hydrophilic formulas do infact affect exposed metal within the nooks and crannies but let's be honest... have you seen or heard of any issues with any of these formulas actually promoting corrosion or even been able to accurately prove that the corrosion was based from the hydrophilic formula used in a particular sealant? There's a ton of questions involved with that and honestly is just an overly paranoid thought to even consider. Also, I'm referring to sealants that are applied by hand using an applicator which is a controlled application that only allows the formula to rest on the parts that you've applied it onto. I know that there are some formulas that are intended to be applied by spray on to then be rinsed off and with those type of formulas I will agree with you. Given that, I will still promote a hydrophilic formula over a hydrophobic. Doesn't have to be turtle wax. Infact I am liking Griot's Garage 3 in 1 ceramic wax. For the price, it is beating TW.

love to see m27 vs mckee's 37 new 365 ceramic ceramic spray coating.....don't see the value of comparing the ceramic liq wax vs the m27...consumer vs pro products.....pro will win and the price difference isn't much....pro version all the way...IMHO
