As a coffee lover, it's definitely a taste you grow to love. Sugar and milk help. If you keep trying and find a really good kind, you might grow to like it. For me it was a small family owned Deli near my work that had amazing coffee that got me hooked. Sadly they closed during covid 😔

I agree! Horror is my favourite genre and I watch so many horror movies that TFGSG just felt ridiculous and overdone to me. Even though I really tried to like it. But a friend of mine who‘s easily scared and hates horror movies loved this book. I think it‘s more a book for non-horror fans or beginners than for people who already like the genre and have some experience.

I’m going through my copy of TFGSG and am going to attempt to pick out the characters and tell which actual movie franchises they’re paying homage to. It’s been a year since I have read it and may get some wrong. I’m also attempting to do this by just using primarily the cheaper Enders/beginners. People feel free to correct some if they’re wrong. It may also be spoilers for the book or movies going forward so don’t read further if you don’t want that. I believe there’s a FG from Texas and hers was chainsaw stuff. So.. Texas Chainsaw Murder for her. I know there’s references to A Nightmare on Elm Street. The babysitter murders I believe represent the Halloween movie franchise. Teddy Volker and Summer Slaughter are the Jason or Friday the 13th franchise because Jason Voorhees and summer camps. Seems like there was also a severed head and that ties in with the first couple of Friday the 13th. Stab is obviously the Scream franchise. Even refers to the movie and TV show which Scream has done both. Rudolph Kring I think represents Fred Krueger and Nightmare on Elm St. There’s a mass sh oo t ing mentioned and that’s referring to Col um bine. Gnomecoming may be about the Leprechaun franchise but I’ve never watched them so… The chapter TFGSG X I believe is Jason X where they thought it would be a good idea to put Jason in space. I think William Walker may represent Michael Myers and Lynette Tarkington is Laurie Strode/Jamie Lee Curtis. Julia Campbell represents Neve Campbell who played Sidney in Scream and Scream 2 since she goes to college and it happens again. Bride of the Final Girl = Bride of Chucky I’m guessing though I don’t watch that franchise. Panhandle Meathook is also Texas Chainsaw. Slay Bells I’m unsure on. I know I probably mixed some up or out right got them wrong and this comment is approximately 84 pages but that’s all I got.
@emperorcupcake2 жыл бұрын
I think Lynette is Linnea Quigley and Slay Bells is Silent Night, Deadly Night. The book references the antlers scene from that movie

I regularly drink caffeinated sodas and I’m a naturally energetic person. That isn’t to say I get a lot accomplished. I’m just a person that can and does exist on very few hours of sleep and I don’t go to sleep without a shocking amount of products. Like, it scares people with what all I take. I love coffee. But it’s more a pleasure thing to me. I do not drink it every day. My parents cannot get going without it in the morning but even when I drink it, it isn’t typically in the morning. And never to get a boost. I have noticed on occasion it being even more difficult to go to sleep if I have a stronger one or drink it later in the day. But there’s definitely some of us out here that drink it and don’t typically get a burst of energy but that may be because some of us already feel energized with no prompting. My two cents. Back to watching now..

I’ve always loved coffee, mainly because my parents let me drink it when I was young (lots of milk & sugar.) I have to say, Starbucks always tastes burnt to me. I like lighter, flavored coffees with creamer. People will say you have to get used to it. My personal take is that if you don’t like it, don’t try to get used to it. It stains your teeth & you get addicted to the caffeine. Get out while you can.

I find that horror lovers are fans of The Final Girls Support Group and Grady Hendrix in general, but consider him on the lighter side of Horror. I would love to see him go darker. Ok some thoughts here: I really liked "See how they run", it was fun, great acting, I'd rate it 4🌟 (though "Knives out" is my favorite in the genre, 5🌟, I've lost count of how many times I've watched the blu-ray and can't wait for the sequel 😯). "Comfort me with apples" was a 3🌟 for me, I guessed the twist early on; however, since you loved that book you should run to see "Don't worry darling", it's "kinda" similar. Finally, I really liked "The final girl support group", it's a 4.5🌟 for me but you need to have seen at least some of the slayer movies it's referring in order to enjoy it even more, at least in my opinion 🍎
