Great lesson on drills. You got to do the drills to build the skills is my favorite slogan as a coach. You have “happy feet “ that constantly move which is the foundation for your volley. Players need to practice control and placement which is essential to these drills. The more volleys you hit with proper technique the more comfortable and confident you will become at the net.

Terrific example of how to stay light your feet and keeping your knees bent. Always prepared and dialed in for the next volley.

We used to do tons of volley drills as junior and you got 2 points when you hit another player so you had to be fast :-)

Faisal has very good technique. Not one forehand volley that looked like you had to discern if before ball impact he was fencing with a sabre or foil and a complete absence of the butterfly net follow through on high volleys. (something some partners I have played with do after the service returner hits back a wounded duck, and he doesn't)

Yes, he's got great volleys. That's why I asked him to help me with the video :-)

Practice is cheating unless you compete against others who practice. Good luck finding rec players who practice. Don't cheat.
