I thought fusion was "fusing" existing genres together into jazz, progressive I took as trying something new and exploring undiscovered territory. That was just my interpretation.
@synthrev8486 жыл бұрын
Yup, thats quite the deal with the term fusion, fusing two or more genres with jazz, using all the theory and technic of both amm worlds haha my point is in this case instead of being progresive (like the examples of rock and metal) its more accurate see this proyect as fusion project bevause of the harmony and composition structure (theme, solos etc) ((:

This was the most bad ass piano playing I’ve ever seen. When a pianist is upstaging Gartska and that German bassist dude, you know shit got real. 10/10. I don’t know much about piano, but I know that that independence required to play the rhythm/lead around 3:40 is masterful. Not to mention that wild shit he does after that at around 3:55. Now that I think of it, this whole thing was insane.

Those Tama star bubinga drums sound so damn good with these meinl cymbals. Love garstkas cymbal setup and his fat stack is my favorite cymbal of all time hands down, also have his equilibrium China which is the perfect blend between a 20 inch traditional China and a 20 inch extra dry China. Got the cut and brashness and loudness of the traditional with the dark dry qualities of the extra dry mixed into one perfect China cymbal. Not too cutting and loud when practicing by yourself but when playing in a live setting and you need it to cut through, it easily does the job. Just such a versatile dynamic China cause most chinas either have one of those qualities but not both like this China. Same qualities for the fat stack, not abrasive and too loud but just perfect but still cuts through any loud music depending on the tension you have the cymbal nut. And that pure ride sounds phenomenal as well. Def wanna get one of those.
@BrianGivensYtube6 жыл бұрын

ELP is what I was first introduced to in Prog rock. Immediately listening to them first the first time and even now hearing them today after being a fan for years I’m always in awe at how amazing the music is with just Piano, Bass, and Drums. Something I’ve noticed further seeing other alternate or similar band 3 piece set ups I always find that it is so unique and stuff and great opportunity for all instruments to be synced as one and orchestrate a technical swagger that shows off the hard work paying off to every musician who put the time in to get to that level. Such a cool way to shred piano and show off some drum chops with great bass playing to fill the missing tone. The pianist are always unique (Keith Emerson.. Rick Wakeman) truly amazing to see an instrument like piano, that you grow up thinking is one of the more soft and beautifully intricate instruments, get shredded apart by unique playing, amazing speed and overall delicately phenomenal precision. The real reason I’m saying all this is because Matt Garstka kicks fucking ass and it’s sweet as shit seeing him rip it up to piano.
