Happy Brewfest everyone! Starting September there are some World Events in WoW which are most dear to me: Brewfest, Hallow's End, and Winter Veil. I'm enjoying this period of the year in WoW, although I don't see many of you in the game (understandable). I'll keep posting content, my mission is not done yet and I'll see you on the Livestream (kzbin.infolive ) - hopefully, I'll finish some Brewfest content in the following days. Unrelated to what I've said above, I am continuing the Cataclysm videos, this time with Mount Hyjal. I was happy to refresh my memory with the rich lore from this zone. 13:18 I remember the daily quest on saving bear cubs clinging on trees while the ground's burning. Those pine trees were really tall, I fall to my death sometimes. XD

Cataclysm as a whole is one of the underestimated expansions..Soundtrack is wonderful

People underestimate the work they put into reinvigorating the whole world (which was a huge clusterfucked mess back in vanilla) and tend to forget it as a whole, since it was no new shiny Realm like Shattered Realm, Northrend or so. Also, the bad taste of 4.3 Dragonsoul really seems to persist the test of time. Dont know what Blizzard was thinking, but having this raid as the final conclusion to the epic Deathwing story line was kinda embarassing. I still have nothing but good memories of Cata, it was a fun expansion, finally worgen and goblins as playable class, good raids (until 4.3), great class balance and prob. the best zone they ever created (Vashj'Ir). But the best thing people tend to forget, which was the case till Legion: You could get away with being a Raid logger (if not going for Hardcore Region First whatever) or better said, you could play, when you wanted and doing alts was no deal at all. Its funny, how they praise stuff like Artefacts, Dailys and Mythic-Boxes in Legion, but with Legion Blizz really started to force you to log in daily, if you didnt want to fall behind in power, which also killed playing alts for so many people., including me.

​@@MrVaeron The beginning of Cata left a bad taste in people's mouths who wanted to continue with the brain-off difficulty of Wrath of heroics, then 4.3 just had a disappointing raid. The 2 Deathwing fights were well-produced, but not quite fun or memorable enough to make up for the rest of the raid being so neglected. It was also just the point where people got burned out of the game too; there was no fundamental gameplay system that was different from Cata and Wrath other than the content being "hard". Looking back, I can clearly see I took a long break in MoP for no good reason other than me being tired of the game.

Mount Hyjal is one of those epic places you dreamt about when playing Vanilla. I always loved the look and concept of this area of the game. I think cinematics make it more justice though.

Coming down off the mountain toward the end of the quest line and seeing the burnt out valleys phase into new growth is still one of my favorite questing moments in all of WoW. Cata had lots of problems but Hyjal was not one of them.

i remember whenever understand that i had to go in a cave whenever it was the barrow dens quest where you talk to that emerald dragon, i must have been 8 at the time, cataclysm was mostly a having fun expansion for me, but when my father finally showed me the way to finish the quest i was more surprised over the fact there were "many maievs" inside the cave.

Wow, I had either forgotten or never noticed how unique Hyjal's score was. For some reason I had just assumed it was a combination of standard NE themes / the cata twilight's hammer theme. I was so wrong! This is great.

It is one of the most beautiful regions, but it’s very difficult to reach Nordrasill on low level, because of many enemies on the way, which are almost impossible to avoid.

We are either getting a new city or probably won't happen at all unfortunately. Nordrassil is far from receiving an upgrade to expect so much population :(

It would make for great story opportunities in 10.0 and beyond having the new Night Elf capital city up close and looking down upon Orgrimmar. Hoping for the best.

this zone totally sucked, it was all forest fires and annoying mobs to fight. Firelands was cool tho
