Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!!!

You won’t see his type or caliber of comedy around very much or if at all. Comedians today don’t have to sell the performance to the audience. The technical tools today are way more sophisticated than when the older comedians were comping up and learning their trade. The older guys were and are so much better!

I was always put off by that obligatory _desk_ that almost all American TV talk shows have for some inexplicable reason, it's good that Dick Cavett used it very rarely (like this video).

Remember when smoking was cool, but really it was disgusting and unhealthy?
@bholaoates1542
@bholaoates1542 3 жыл бұрын
Smokers are drug addicts. Anyone ever notice that most of them can't quit even with the plethora of products and techniques available to help them? I've never met a smoker that I could trust. Smokers will sell you out for their next drug fix (cigarette), because they're always gonna be "jones-ing" for that next cigarette. Never trust a drug addict. They just don't care. Smoking might have looked cool back during the day, but practically everyone I see doing it today appears nervous, uncomfortable or ashamed. And it's kind of amusing to see them try to hide their cigarette when they're smoking outside and someone passes by. Also, I don't see anyone requiring them to wear a mask when they're smoking, but the rest of us have to wear a mask when we're just walking, hiking or jogging with nobody anywhere near us. In California we're required to wear a mask even when we're eating(!). We're in the middle of a pandemic caused by a virus that attacks the lungs, and yet people are still smoking these cancer sticks and *not* being harassed by our government. Simply unreal.

I think a lot of the folks who would sing on talk shows and variety shows would adlib like that just to keep it interesting after singing the same songs so many times. Mr. Brooks' impression of Mr. Sinatra's style of adlib here was spot-on, and kudos to Mr. Cavett's pianist for his ad hoc accompaniment. Who knows if the band even knew this was coming?

An absolute legend. If you've never laughed at something Mel Brooks has done then you either never saw his work or you don't have a sense of humour. Singer, impressionist, writer, comedian, actor, producer, director... hey Mel, give someone else a chance. NO, don't. We'll take whatever your dishing out for as long as your cooking and your always cooking baby.

Heard a wonderful interview. He was on a talk show with another man famously married to a beautiful star(but not of Anne Bancroft's caliber) and the guy was going on and on about the magnificent jewelry he bought her for their anniversary. So the host asked Mel what he got for Anne Bancroft. "Oh, I took Annie to our favorite hot pretzel vendor and got her the biggest hot pretzel he had. With salt and everything."
