We went to Melaque every year for 31 years. We started way back before the earthquake in the early 90s. We LOVE so many people throughout the entire town. Feel like we must have met at some time. We stayed at Hotel Monterey, and before the hippies arrived in the mid 90s we always stayed at the Santa Maria. So many wonderful memories..... Dancing at Viva Maria

I love my beautiful melaque, which is a nice and quiet beautiful town. I was there 2 weeks ago! And I already missed it.

I was there in 1987, nice little town still looks the same to me!

That is unusual. Most places I went to a long time ago are completely ruined with over tourism. Like Boracay Island in the Philippines, Holbox in Mexico, Much of Thailand

David, thank you. Very thorough and informative video. 12 years going to Melaque! You are almost a resident.😊

We just came back from Caye Caulker in Belize. Nice place but very expensive compared to Melaque. Only good for about one week not for a month or more.

I'm sorry but the birds you refer to as albatross are all pelicans. Albatross are rare in Mexico and they seldom appear near shore.

Glad you enjoyed it. We are next going to Roatan for the first time and I'm going to make a video of that. Keep an eye out for it
@dlessnau10 ай бұрын
After researching Roatan I see the beaches are not very nice. They are only about 20 feet wide. So we will be going to Lombock near Bali next. That will be my next travel video.

Beach towns like this are charming. Just wondering how you take the humidity that I heard is high. I'd love to be there. The Carolinas in USA has humidity which is tolerable. Houston, TX was VERY humid. Hated it for I stayed in AC otherwise feeling suffocated from the high humidity. Wish not.

Dec through February the weather is perfect. No rain, not too hot, and I never noticed the humidity. I live in Florida which has unpredictable weather. Many cold days and WAY too many snowbirds and traffic. We just came back from Caye Caulker in Belize. Nice but much more expensive and only good for about a week.
Well done, very clear and informative, I think I'll have to check out the area.

Is it safe to buy property here?
@klausuhlig71414 ай бұрын
You forgot to mention, all the house construction going on from all the snow bird refugies that are flooding this small Bay and the sewers backing up, the lagune here that had all kindsa birds and huge butterflies and none left, yes I also made the mistake of telling my friends about this place over 40 yrs ago, and I don't even want to get into the price increases,

It has been excellent for 12 years I have been going there, but the last couple of years it has started to change.

Looks like a very nice town to visit . Are there hospitals and medical clinics close by ?
@dlessnau7 ай бұрын
Yes doctors, dentists and pharmacists are there. However, for hospital you would take one hour taxis to Manzania
