This was my favourite TV show when I was around 13. It was written by the great Mel Brooks and designed as a parody on James Bond.

Get Smart was one of the best shows ever to grace television. You can google the episodes or just the opening song.

I have seen these guys live, so cool. 'Get Smart' was a parody show of the whole 'Bond' era 'Spy' themed movies and TV shows at the time. The theme tune for the show was supposed to sound very similar to the 'Bond' music. This is literally the 'Get Smart' theme tune, done in Ska. It was brilliant.

"Missed it by that much" at the very end was a common remark from Maxwell Smart, Played by Don Adams, in the Get Smart TV series.

Suddenly I'm on the couch after school waiting for a great laugh in 1965. Such a great show, Don Adams and Barbara Feldon so great together. Love this orchestral version of the show's theme song. So beefed up. I'm with you Harri, if there's horns count me in, and the drums splendid sounds so powerful. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Sharla. Such a great memory. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Don Knotts? Don Adams. Don Knotts is in Mayberry waiting to use the one bullet for his gun. Don Adams was a brilliant man. Barbara Feldon said he would come in, take a look at the script and have it memorized nearly instantly. Crazy...

I reside in Melbourne, but hadn't heard of these guys .. This was very good ! .. They did well to take such a short theme and make a full record out of it, while keeping it interesting the whole time .. And yes, they are definitely copying the Madness style of music videos .. And that's not a bad thing at all ! .. Great reaction, Harri. 👍

Get Smart was my favee show as a kid... that and Batman and the Monkees. It was a fantastic parody of spy/secret agent movies, and this is a very very fabulous version of the theme song, though if you've never heard the original, it's easy to find on KZbin. Just Google Get Smart theme. Mel Brooks and Buck Henry created such a great show, and when my kids were growing up in the 80s and 90s, they reran the series on YTV and they fell in love with it too. It would be worth your while to watch a few episodes just for the sake of seeing where a lot of pop cultures references come from. "Sorry about that, Chief." "Missed it by that much." "The old bomb in the snack truck trick." "...and loving it."

We need someone who reacts to more SKA!!! Let’s hear Reel Big Fish, the Planet Smashers, the Skatalites, the Slackers, the Toasters, the Pietasters, and so many more amazing bands starting with “the”. Lol! Ska is such a vast genre, and is a key style to many hit songs, despite how unknown it is in the mainstream. I feel like everyone loves ska…most just don’t know it yet. Haha!

There is a reason the song songs like it could be from a James Bond movie - the original is the theme song for the show "Get Smart" which was a parody of spy movies.

You may be interested in The Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra as well Harri, kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2TIk36sZtGMjdk , they have been going now for over 30 years . My favourite Ska Band, they have ferocious energy levels particularly the drummer Kin-ichi Motegi, I last saw them in the live stream of the Fuji Rock Festival in 2022 and not only did they do their own set but also played support for other solo artists. They suffered multiple tragedies losing their vocalist Clean Head Gimoya to brain cancer, their original drummer killed in a motorcycle accident in Australia and another member having to leave due to a severe foot injury he suffered in another motorcycle accident in Thailand.
