Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Yzuei mentioned that the hinges on the front of his plane can absorb a lot of impact. This is also very true of the suspension pieces. I suggest for your next challenge that you guys make bumper cars and do ground melee.

You should recreate a bunch of dogfights on the high seas map, so the wind changes it. You could also try to do a glider battle on the high seas map where you should be able to fly upwards because of the wind

Dogfight, but the plane's tail is the only thing controlling the flight, and with no gyros nor wings allowed. Just wingless planes, but with a tail.

Hopefully this melee video leads to something I've been wanting to see for a while now, which is robots that punch each other. They don't need to walk or even move that much, just machines that are anchored to ground and take turns punching would work.

I think they did a battle not too long ago, where they swapped styles (ie, scrapman tried to build for form, and Yuzei for function)

submarine gladiator fight, only melee (jousting, ramming, grabbing with mechanical claws or other physical contact) or dropped pieces (mine laying, net dropping, makeshift single use explosive or ramming torpedo glued to or dropped from the vehicle as well as other single use hazard idea) can be used as weapon, the winner is decided when one of the two players has lost control over their submarine.

That was a surprising result! I would have expected Yzuei's plane to be more durable. I guess Trailmaker's physics works in mysterious ways 😂 I think it would be neat to revisit this video theme, but combine it with the evolution series. Start off with a low part count and power core limit, then build up from there as you battle to design and perfect the ultimate melee aircraft.

Video suggestion: Growing up I really liked playing the game sharks and minoes. Playing trailmakers I was exploring the air craft carrier the narrow passage ways made me think of sharks and minoes. I think it could be fun to implement evolution into this game. Keep up the great work scrap man!

Two ideas. One: dogfights using planes built without any normal blocks or aerodynamics blocks. You can each use shield pieces and maybe your choice of one or two specific aerodynamic blocks or something if it's too restrictive as I originally said it. Second idea: Fight using creations. Set a block limit and power limit, and that's it. You'll have to think about your opponent and their strengths, and make something to counter them individually. But there could be levels of mind games in that you can build whatever you want. For example, you know Yuzei likes his planes. So maybe you think an AA gun would work great, but Yuzei knows you know he likes his planes, so maybe he makes a tiny little RC car with dynamite on it because he expects the AA gun. But then you're expecting the potential RC mixup and have a basic hover system working on the AA gun. It may be a little open ended of a video, but I think it'd be fun to see how you size each other up and build to counter each other strengths.

Anchors on the front, and a tail facing gyro that you turn on when the enemy is anchored, so you can win by technicality when they hit the water first

Idea for Scrapman: Do big plane vs small plane but the small planes use a piece of dinamite with anchor blocks attached to the plane with power couplers instead of guns. The dinamite sticks can be released with detachable blocks so you don’t destroy your small plane at the time of explosion.

At some point scrapman will build a plane with so much redundancy that you don't need the plane to fly it

Next you should try this with a bit of dynamite and some segmented plane parts, so you can detach a wing or so to use as a bomb, and since the dynamite will be on each segment, if you hit an enemy, it will presumably cause a chain reaction and instantly destroy them.

Hi. Try multiple evolutions into one creation using detachable block and play mele dog fight. Make a jet into another jet using detachable blocks and attach it to a bigger jet. Set detachable block into a button and if you are very near to hitting your opponent, you can detach your body and throw them at the opponent and fly away

I want to see some evolution challenges, or maybe not true evolution but like a 30 to 50 block limit of adjustments that can made between rounds. Allowing for ideas to be tested and perfected within the round. With Yuzi's aesthetics I'm curious to see how much things may change, as well as how much some fo your idea's would get fleshed out for these challanges.

how about you try to make flying bikes? and do a dogfight, kinda like amphibious but instead of water and land, land and air, would reduce the amount of parts and you could even have a limited area to fight or maybe like an amount of air time before having to come back down to recharge and maybe you could have it so that wings have to go down when the timer is up so you need to look out for it so you land BEFORE it runs out or you risk falling down to your death
