Who's 2021 listening? As a child, this was my mom's favorite song. I used to sing this song when I would miss her when I went to visit my dad. Idk, possibly as a (relax tec) but it's my favorite song as an adult now. Whenever I hear this song it takes me back to that exact day I sang it to sleep bc I missed her. Anyway, nobody probably cares but, it's a Def a core memory for me.

I looked this song up after reading the scripture in Revelations where John tells one of the churches that they had lost their first love. This song came to mind and started me wondering is this what God says to us. Thanks for having it here.

There's one thing about true love, it doesn't walk away when you do. It doesn't die. Hurt or disappointment can slowly kill it if it's not attended to. Having boundaries that you will not compromise doesn't mean you don't love someone or stop loving them. If it's not reciprocate, why think it will ever be, especially after years of hoping. We all have choices. Accept it with respect for yourself and move on. I'm looking for real, true, forever love. If you can't give it to me, stay where you are. Don't disrespect me, cheat on me, abuse, or neglect me. Real love doesn't do these things. Love whom you are with, you love. You can't love her and me and expect me to accept that. I'm worth much more. You know what you mean to me. I love me more. God sees all. He won't let you hurt me. We will never be together. If he brings you to me, I will know I'm safe. If not, I will be good like I've been all these years except now I have no expectations of you, only God. You know what I want for you. I pray you will always have it, with or without me. I will always love you. You are My soulmate.

When the Bible talks about returning to your first love it's referring to the cross. Disobedience is detachment from God. It started in the garden. God made a love relationship with him possible by sending Jesus. For God so loved the world. Most people only know church participation. And they live their everyday lives in sin. So God wants humanity to return to him through the cross. And then you'll know what love God's way defines.

I have listened to this song ever since the now distant time when it came out. it is so great, because of Melisa's voice, of course, and because of the huge question she is asking in the song, which we all ask someone, once in a while, when we don't feel loved enough, and that we ask Someone, every day, and all the time, in this very difficult adventure of living in our world. Nobody truly understands fully anything of what is really important, especially those who say they do. If anyone really did, there would be no hate, no misunderstandings. As my very beloved DMX says it, "it won't be his or hers, it will be us". He is right! But when?

Mike Davis Milenials are Crack babies. They can’t feel. That’s why the pop music now is so robotic and lack of emotion. Now it’s all about aggression and narcissism. I pity the youth. They will never know.
