Lauren Bacall is still one of those women who make you wonder about the possibilities, but she also was a force to be reckoned with. I'd say she conquered her fears, and came full circle in her ambition for the stage, and that's no small potatoes. As a staunch New Yorker myself, I could relate to her insights. She was fascinating, distinctive, and a rare beauty. To have all that and talent too, makes her great.

@@shdz57 he suffered from esophageal cancer, not lung cancer. And cheating is inevitable. If you plan to be with someone for life, there will always be a point in time where infidelity will occur. The best you can hope for is that you and your partner can be mature enough to discuss an appropriate way of going about it. Just because you’re married and in love doesn’t mean you can’t have a fling every so often. I think it’s actually healthy if you do. Couples start to grow depressed and resentful if forced to stay 120% faithful for decades on end.

@@sherrydrake9578 Yes, she did leave her 2 year old son behind for six months, but so did Bogie. Lauren paid her "mommie dues" when she stayed off the screen for three years (1950-1953) to be a mommie. I don't know why women are the ones who are always expected to give up such things as careers when they get married and have children. And what did Bogie give up?

"Lauren Bacall" was a nice Jewish girl named Betty Joan Perske born in the Bronx, NY. You can GOOGLE all of the movie stars to find out their "real names". Their names were changed, often times by their studios, because their real names sounded too dull (Mary Smith-Yuck!) OR too"ethnic". All the stars of the day wanted and needed names that sounded like "real Americans" and/or have "cool names" .Born in an earlier era, Leo DiCaprio may have been known as "Larry Daniels", and Al Pacino as "Allan Parsons", who knows?

Gorgeous Miss Bacall was incredible. A most erotic experience is watching her smoke a cigarette. It was said that after she lit up in To Have and Have Not, 1 million women took up the habit. She was only 19. Barbara Bain/Cinamon Carter ranked.

I love Lauren Bacall or Betty Bacall!!! 🤗. Oh I love the way she looks or still looks in the spirit world, and I love her voice so much! I love the deepness and raspiness and sexiness about it! Thank you so much for making this video about Lauren and her life, because I actually didn’t really know anything basically at all about her!!! I think she had or has a very good heart and spirit! I’d like to read her autobiography! I bet it would be fun! Though sad, when Humphrey Bogart gets cancer of the throat or esophagus, etc.

Bacall didn't get to become who she is by being nice and considerate to those around her, so I don't understand all these comments about how nice she was. She was widowed at 33 with three children and suddenly had to make a living for her family. Not EZ in those times the 50's-60's. She had to develop a tough exterior to prevent from being taken advantage of in Hollywood. I'm sure men came onto and propositioned her after Bogey's death, she and Sinatra were practically engaged to get married (she thanks the heavens that didn't happen), she said it wouldn't have lasted anyway. Lauren Bacall is what we call the ultimate "tough cookie" and she's stepped on more than her share of toes.

Her voice is the deepest I've ever heard from a woman. But it was so exotic, stimulating, and a turn on. I watched her for the first time in a movie with Humphrey Bogart and I didn't expect her to have that voice lol. Nevertheless, she is beautiful and was very bad back in the day.
